Seperate Shoutbawx Channel For Diablo 3

The shoutbawx has been overflowing with diablo 3 related stuff, it is impossible to even start a conversation and have it last for more than 1 minute before it turns into Diablo 3 again. A separate channel for Diablo 3 would allow those who play and want to talk about it to do so and those who don't want to hear more about it to not. Or even better would be a separate channel just for non D3 talk, as many of the new donators who came here for Diablo 3 would not realize there's a separate channel.

Please consider this, lately all I have seen is "Is anyone buying gold for more than $10/m?" "how much does <random item> sell for?" "can anyone give me way point x" "where is the best spot to bot gold?" over and over again.

Making a special Diablo 3 channel is worth a try, and I think it would cut down on all this orange-kiddy behaviour. But even if they keep breaking the rules, I have enough ban bullets to last a few months.

I whole-heartedly agree. I was just complaining to some about this, in fact. Frankly, it's worse than the actual D3 chat in game. I don't even know if a new channel would fix it, but shit, I barely want to even get on OwnedCore because in the past, I could hold a nice community conversation in a "Chat-room" esque area here in the bawx. Now it's just crap about "Who buys my gold for the most?"

While that isn't directly trading, their intent is obvious, and it belongs in the Buy/Sell/Trade section of the Diablo 3 forums.

I don't even care if there is a second shoutbawx channel for D3 or not-- Based on what I've seen these idiots talking about, it wouldn't make any difference or they'd have no idea how to get there; clearly most of them haven't read the rules (Even the one that is in big bold letters above the bawx...)

Hell, a separate shoutbawx for anything but the D3 donator shitstorming would be fine with me.

On that note: I find it awesome that D3 got such a massive amount of people to donate to the site, but this is out of hand. I know mods have, and I'll quote here, been feeling "like I'm running on a machine gun in BF3, defending bawx".

I don't doubt that at least a good handful of users feel similarly about this "issue". As I said, having any kind of conversation in the bawx just gets buried beneath orange names with grey fonts within seconds nowadays, almost all of which are talking about irrelevant Diablo 3 stuff, or kids trying to be "sly" in their trading.

If there is anything we, the users, can do about this, please let us know. I know the suggestion will be "Find an app for it" (Though we may already have one?) and I doubt people want to have multiple chat channels, but frankly, I don't want to hear 95% of what all of the 3-day-old (to OC) donators in the bawx have to say.

Is there any way people have to read and agree to the rules before given bawx access? I know many would skip it, but I can...sort of kind of I guess... see how someone could not realise that rules even existed. Maybe...
Also, perhaps a rule and handbook revamp going more into detail about how things like asking who sells/buys gold for the cheapest is in fact considered trading by most?

I know what you're saying here, but frankly we don't want more websites popping up--We want them here. We don't want them on the plethora of crap diablo 3 sites. We don't want them spending all of their time on Reddit for info on D3. We want them on OwnedCore.
As far as people breaking rules and expecting them to use the D3 channel, I don't expect them to. More of a temporary "actual talking" channel for everyone to use that doesn't want the Diablo flood. I don't expect the new donators to use a new channel, but it's not hard to expect contrib+ to use one if they want the escape.

What I meant that in a month the bawx most likely won't be flooded with the "What's fastest 1-60" "How much gold goes for" etc. because all the leveling stuff will be common knowledge and gold prices will have regulated because of the RMAH.

I personally like the idea of the "actual talking" channel more than the D3 channel.

As i've said since 15th of may(?) I'm going to throw up every time I hear Diablo 3 mentioned.. So assuming I always keep my worth, the amount of teeth in my mouth has greatly decreased since I'm pretty much on the bawx whenever i'm at the computer.

And yes, I play Diablo III a lot and like to have discussions on it. But not 24/7. Whenever you log on, there is always some orange posting about D3 in the bawx.

EDIT: And yes, in a month, maybe two maximum, the talk will die down. Of course it will. But it shouldn't be to hard to add another channel temporarily. I could be wrong though; I know nothing about that kind of stuff.

Yeah sometimes a break can be nice.. Like.. The bawx to chillout WITHOUT talking about something you probably just spent 4 hours playing.. I don't play diablo, but still.. I don't talk about minecraft, skyrim, gta IV, or any other game that I play a lot, 24/7 in bawx.

On that note, that's why there are specific forums for those games here. They might not get as much traction as they do in the bawx, but your replies will be more well though out and intelligent than what we're seeing in the shoutbawx right now as I type this.

Mods and Admins, I will be complaining specifically to users who are on the rim of breaching rules, or who are downright breaking them, in the politest manner possible, by telling them that they need to take their circle jerks to --/pm uname "NAME" TEXT-- or elsewhere if it's clear no one wants it (When ten contribs+ are moaning about them needing to STFU, it's obviously not wanted) to try and alleviate this, as I don't necessarily want to see everyone getting banned, and respect their freedom to talk on this website, as I said, obviously many people don't want to hear it. I am not pretending to be a mod, and I am trying to make that as clear as possible, but we can't expect mods to be on 24/7, and the users having issues with this need to take a stand in my opinion. If there is a better way to go about this, let me know. I'm not out to get myself banned while fighting the fire, but I'm not going to sit around and listen to two twelve year old economists argue about inflation when they have no idea how an economy even works (Just for one example) when they are blatantly having a "private" conversation that no one else wants to be apart of.
