Seperate shoutbawx channel for threads

I think it would be a nice idea and feature to have a separate shoutbawx channel/tab for threads only. I don't know if this would work with the current shoutbawx, but it would be nice to have a separate tab on the shoutbawx that only listed new threads posted and that could be viewable by all members, not only donor+.

I think this would promote more posts in new threads and draw more attention to all areas within the forum.

You could just click on "New Posts" at the top left.

The New Posts tab doesn't update itself automaticly and it takes up the whole screen. Be positive.

New Posts also isn't new threads, it's new posts in both new threads and old threads, I don't want to see that someone posted in Mr Fishit for the 1000x time.

It could be possible to have a seperate channel in the shoutbawx where nobody's allowed to post, that way it will only store the threads created - like the staff channel which we rarely use since we have a way to talk in the normal channel, it's full of past created threads.

Yes but it should be accessible to everyone, so instead of a different shoutbawx channel maybe even a little tracker above the shoutbawx or as a side bar that has a list of new threads as they are being posted?

I never said it shouldn't, I was giving an example of what we currently have for the staff channel. Also as a side bar would probably need to change the entire shoutbawx. If you can find the code for it then they'll probably think about it.

I don't recall anything like this ever being done before, there is the new posts side bar, but that is different.

What we COULD probably do is change the 'new posts' tab to a 'new threads' tab. I think it's not that useful to know what the last posts were.
