should make it in flash imo
should make it in flash imo
Keep it as you are doing it apoc i love TD's i make em in wc3. and i can normally beat them within my first 3 times playing if not my very first time ^_^.
Ok; so I'm to the point where I need to start thinking about the GUI.
REQUEST! I need HALP! Badly!
Basically; here's what I've thought up:
I know, that's horrible.
If anybody can come up with anything better, I'd be more than happy to use it.
If need be, I can do some overlaid 'popups' on each tower to show their info to free up the space on the right, so it can be filled with something else.
Again; give me your ideas!
Feel free to change whatever you want; just make sure the map area stays as a square. (Eg; 600x600, 300x300, 500x500, etc)

So I just had a quick fiddle around with it and came up with this, I'm pretty happy with the result.
EDIT: I was thinking when they press the big button at bottom a messagebox could pop up saying "You pressed a big button". If you have trouble with that I could probably do it for you, I'm a really good programmer/designer FYI.
EDIT: EDIT: I just had another idea, for the win button, when they press that the game could end another message box could pop up saying "You have won" and when the press the second win button another message box could pop up saying "You have won again" and then the game closes. Again, if you want me to write the code for that just let know and i'm there.
EDIT: EDIT: EDIT: Ok just spent another couple of hours on it and redesigned the GUI, it's like way different.
I think the colours really compliment each other.
EDIT: I'm thinking if you like my GUI then we could maybe make the big button bigger, cos the general guideline of software development is bigger is better (but I probably don't need to tell you this cos you know a little bit of programming I think)
EDIT: EDIT: EDIT: EDIT: In my previous Edit I only said "EDIT:" once, so this EDIT is making up for it.

PHWOOOOAAAAAR - Parog was here. <3 <----Wtf's a Parog?
Do a widescreen format for the game (The part shown), and do a more WC3 bottom layout. Current selection on the far left, current towers status in the middle, then build-able towers on the far right; Descriptions will be popup.
Then for units, do a simple ESP and a more in-depth drop-down for towers.
EDIT: An WIP example that I was thinking.

The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed.

That's ****ing smexy. However; I don't think I'll need the bit in the middle. (I don't plan on allowing multiple tower selects)
Maybe we can push the current stats to the left (Eg; health, cash, score, time to next wave, wave #, and maybe some quick enemy stats) and the currently selected towers info in the middle?
I just realized that I'll be needing a bit more room for tower descriptions. Since I just had an awesome idea.
Towers will gain bonuses, and losses based on the current weather. (Eg; frost based towers gain extra damage/fire speed when it's snowing; and lose some when it's broad daylight. Water towers get the same during rain, etc) Should make the game much more fun.
Also; lol @ the bubble texture in the health bars![]()
suicidity, plain awsome.

Lookin' cool. I think I'll wait for a more stable and complete version to try out though.
You could rip ideas from Xperl, have the towers move and have animated bar and such.
