Create your own ventrilo 2.1.4 server!

Hi I thought I'd write a tutorial on how to create a 2.1.4 ventrilo server. This is absolutley free and for what I know it hasn't got a userlimit.
Okay, so let's get started!
1. Go to unitedFreaks and klick "download starten", you will get a .rar file so I recommend you to get WinRAR if you haven't got that already WinRAR archiver, a powerful tool to process RAR and ZIP files .

2. Extract the .rar file to a location of your own choise, in this tutorial I will be choosing the desktop since it's the easiest to remember and access. You should have these files in your ventrilo server folder :

(ignore the stuff in swedish)

3. Open the ventrilo_srv.ini, this file contains the configruation of your server.

Phonetic=Server 1
Comment=Comment,will be seen as: The name of your server (comment)
Port=3784 ( the port your server will run on, change if you'd like another port)

Duplicates=1
AdminPassword=The password you will need to get admin access
Password=The password needed for others to join, leave blank if none.
MaxClients=32
SendBuffer=0
RecvBuffer=0

text in red = Recommended or needed to fill in.
text in yellow = for example port, just change if you don't want to run on that spec port.

4. Ok now that we've configured the server as we want it, we must open the port required if you've got a router. Go to run -> type in "cmd" , type "ipconfig"

As you can see, my IP to my router is 192.168.1.1 , your will most likely be different.

5. Log onto your router ( PortForward.com - Free Help Setting up Your Router or Firewall ) and open the port 3784 TCP/UDP.

(NOTE THIS IS FOR MY ROUTER , NETGEAR.)

Go to rules ( for my router aswell, check PortForward.com - Free Help Setting up Your Router or Firewall on how to open on your router ), and add the service you just made , add outbound(outbound is just to add nothing more to it) , and inbound. For inbound do cmd-> ipconfig again ( run -> cmd -> ipconfig )
and look up if you've got something called IPv4-adress, take the IP there and type it in here :
for me it's 192.168.1.3 that I must type in there.

6. Save and log-out from the router, go to your desktop and start ventrilo_srv.exe , test if you can connect trough your external ip What Is My IP Address? - IP Address Lookup, Internet Speed Test, IP Info, plus more

If you can, you can send the IP to your friends and they can connect to!

If you want a text ip!

1. go to DynDNS.com: Free DNS Hosting, E-mail Delivery, and VPS Hosting and register a account, provide your real e-mail since there will be sent an activation mail there.

2. Log in and navigate to "Services" on the border, click the "Dynamic DNS" button and choose Dynamic DNS Free , to the right press "Get started"

Hostname : choose what you want, ex "mmowned.kicks-ass.org" ( choose more from the list to the right )
Wildcard status: Ignore this.
Service type: It should be "Host with IP adress".
IP Adress : what IP you want to create a DNS for, press "Use auto detected IP address ***.**.***.***" to automatically fill in your IP adress.
Press "Add to cart" , press Next , press Activate services.

Now you're done!

Check so your firewall doesn't block it or anything, seems like your port forwarding is correct since it says : connection accepted.
