Obama. African-American. Running for president. Can teach me some guitar.
WHY WOULD YOU NOT VOTE FOR THIS GUY?
Guitars I would recommend:
Gibson
B.C. Rich
Fender
Ibanez
Jackson
Shecter
I have been playing for a year and I am self taught. Guitar is one of the easiest instruments to teach yourself. Get a learning book. Tabs are just to easy.
That list is pretty good, except replace B.C. Rich with ESP.
With B.C.R you are paying for the looks (which are dumb imho, unless you want to look like a black metal fag) more then anything.
"Step right up and shake hands with the devil"
worst advise anyone can give about guitar right there.
always, ALWAYS start with acoustic. the strings are harder to play on but that's good because you want calluses on your fingers. It takes a good 6 months of playing on acoustic to get solid ones but once you do, guitar playing and learning becomes a breeze. Also, learn your basic chords. A, Am, B, Bb, C, D, Dm, Em, G, F#, F, G. Just go to ultimate guitar .com and find the tutorial section and find chords. Master them, get the switch's down, be able to go from one to another without thinking. Takes time, but once you get those things down, guitar just became extremely easy and fun from then on.
Best learning guitar, an Ibenez.
Ibanez AC30NT ARTWOOD SERIES Acoustic Guitar and more 6 String Acoustic Guitars at GuitarCenter.com.
Cheap, sounds amazing, buy it if your serious about wanting to play.

I've been playing for about 2 years off an on. I'm hoping to start getting some lessons soon, since I had to start by getting e-mail lessons. I can recommend Epiphone, I have one and its great. As for the amp, I have a Line 6 Spider III my dad had bought me the guitar and amp. He found the amp to be one of the best he could fine, ran about $500 for the guitar and amp it's a good starter set
been playing for 1n½ year(s) now ^^
a tip: dont buy a shitty "guitar pack" with some bad guitar, if you WANT to play guitar buy a good one from start.. even tough you are new to it you should still have good stuff.. bad sound=bad playa ><
I like B.C. RichEspecially the Virgo! That thing is sick

i would suggest Ibanez for a brand.
also, heres a tip i give anyone thats starting out playing guitar. After learning for a little you'll hit a "Hump" where it can get really hard and frustrating. But just set aside like at least an hour a day and you'll get past it and you'll learn songs and even just practicing will be entertaining. (you'll know what im talking about when you start playing)
Enjoy
i just started playing on some yamaha guitar my friend gave me, i suck.![]()
I Play Bass myself, cuz I really like the deep sounds, but it's easier to start with acoustic guitar I believe and change to electric after a bit..![]()
