VMWARE Workstation 7 + win XP SP3 low graphic performance

Hi,
I have instaled VMWARE Workstation 7 and win XP on it (updated to SP3) and instaled d3 on it. The game performance is absolutely terrible, it runs on like 7-8 fps under any resolution with everything set to low...
We allocated 2 GB RAM memory to it and 4 CPU cores, however the graphic adapter memory is defaultly set to 128 (I read on forums that its the cap anyway and it cannot be increased). Is this the main problem or something else?

btw its laptop and its i5 430, ATI mobility radeon HD 5650, 4GB RAM...

do you have hardware gpu acceleration option turned on? I am not sure whether or not it is turned on by default...

Could u tell me where can I found this option? also is this host instance or the wmware?

Also we edited the wmx file to allocate 512 RAM, but 0% performance change...

here is the solution: use workstation 8 not 7

Its turned on by default, I also increased the memory in the wmx file to 536870912 (512 MB) but it somehow doesnt work, when I check the adapter settings its still on 128...

Just installed workstation 8, nothing has changed, GPU adapter still set on 128 MB, when I mod the vmx file to increase it to 512 MB, it has no effect and the adapter remains on 128 MB...anyone has solution to this? cmon there are so many ppl around using this so someone must know ...
