Let me point out a few thing
People know how to install an addon, so intentionally installs this wrong.
They knew previously to extract to a folder only. Then intentionally delete that folder and then complain that the folder is deleted. I have been accused of hacking someones PC, to delete the guides folder, because they refused to admit they did it.
I know informants are sent, or let just call them rats. Kinda stupid that they use their same name on their source as well.
They do not say that they had the addon before and then expect me to know they did.
They intentionally use the wrong software, when told not to but does it anyway. Then complains that it does not work.
They do not read, just take a run and then complains that it does not work.
If people go through life like that, no wonder they are not succeeding.
i'm not going to even bother reading as it seems you cant understand basic common logic behind what you're saying without apparently pissing people off...
an example i can give you, that surely even you can understand the basics of how it can be taken -
someone said and i quote (apologies for the copy/paste) - sorry not to be one of the annoying ones that can't follow instructions but I can't figure out how to install the MoP guide. never had an issue with retail or the older classic versions but i just can't figure out the MoP one. I've tried extracting the files to multiple different folders in the addon and I can't figure it out. any help with this?
he was nothing but polite, explained he could not figure it out and such and just asked for help from his end to try get it working.. you responded as followed -
So the post says one thing and 1 thing only
Extract to addons
Why did you not do that?
Why can people not do that?
It is an addon, it goes to addons. It has been the same for the past years.
People know how to install an addon. They know it is extracted to Extract to addons.
So why on earth do you and other people "xtracting the files to multiple different folders"?
I never said that.
It is an addon, you know it is an addon, you know it goes in addons.
So my question is, why did you not do that?
-----------------------------
asking him "why he didn't do something, and why does no one else do said thing" can be taken as an attack or as such being rude.
and again here - It is an addon, it goes to addons. It has been the same for the past years.
People know how to install an addon. They know it is extracted to Extract to addons. - of course he can see it needs to be extracting, but clearly it wasn't working how he tried, so he asked for help like anyone would because they don't understand for whatever reason.
again further attacks - So why on earth do you and other people "xtracting the files to multiple different folders"? (how can you expect him not to bite back?) - He explained you was acting like a bit of a dick with your response, as i have in the past and by the looks of it again many many many others do too.
what did you do instead of understanding? you doubled down by attacking his personal life and told him not to bite the hand that feeds him lol... FOR WHAT? asking for help and you deciding to go full nuke on him for asking something that could of been either toned down quite a lot or explained in a better way/mood.
--------------------------------
Where did i ignite something then deny it? I never said anything of the sort. I have in fact spoke to you in the past and even pointed out there is no need for you to talk down to people for simply trying to understand something better, not everyone is exactly the same tech savvy as the next person, for example would you expect a 70 year old man to know the same as a let's say 15 year old boy? Of course not, hence why you could of worded your poorly written apparent not belittling a bit better..
you again though are doubling down on peoples personal lives "they go through life not succeeding" lol.. do you know these people or even myself personally? of course you don't, you're judging people (hence belittling) them based on asking a basic question, a question of which i explained a lot better than you did and have done so far and in fact i even posted it before somewhere in the many before pages.
Just some food for thought, you want respect then stop being so arrogant. Again i will thank someone for their time, their effort to try/give something, but it doesn't mean i'm trying to be your best friend or are trying to show you some false sense of respect, that's just you being delusional.

@Dbuffed wow what a wall of text
Well you take it
Well I said did they read the post before sniping the link? No
They are playing anniversary, they know they are playing anniversary, they saw the file anniversary and what did they take? Mists of Pandaria.
That is like, you are using windows, you know you are using windows and then you take a linux installer and then complain it does not work.
Well you know F it, game over
Dbuffed you can provide all files now at your cost. Lets see you back up your mouth.

Hey all, i was able to get this working fine on MOP, but was looking for some guidance on how to set it up on a private server. it says its running on the 3.3.5 client. Any guidance would be helpful. I did install "RXPGuides-v4.2.6 TBC Private servers" based on one of the posts i found, but it loads very broken.

Hey everybody!
First I wanted to say thanks for providing everybody with guides and trying to help anybody whos having troubles.
I already talked to OP via DM but he said he never played on mac so I wanted to give it a try here, maybe any of you can help me
First of all: I really tried to fix it myself and read through a lot of the posts but I can’t seem to get it working. I can use all of the guide on Alliance and also the survival guide for horde but I can’t use the speedrun guide on horde from 22+. I’ve had RXP before so first things first I deleted the savedvariables for it as u said.
Then I downloaded the files following the „era“ link. When I use Unarchiver it gives me the „RXP Leveling“ Folder. This folder I drag into the „Addons“ folder from wow. Then I download RXP from the link provided on your owned core thread. Unarchive the addon and put it into the addons folder.
Now when I open up the game, I can see everything on alliance and only the survival guide for horde.
When I go into the RXP Leveling folder I can see the „30-60-Alliance.lua“ as well as the „30-60-Horde.lua“ in era folder.
Anybody has any idea how to fix?
Thanks for everybody

They never did an ad for that patch unless you have is 4.0
All you need to do is it still that add-on and then at the guides
What should do that I can find some old guides that possibly should match.

I appreciate that info, with that in mind i jumped into the RestedXP Guithub and tried different versions. I get the little GUI on to load, but no data or any way to interact with it.

Currently getting the same issue but I'm on windows 11. Don't know of any fix yet.

The oldest on curseforge is for patch 20501
or 1.14.1
I see you went by the game version in the drop down and not the game version listed?

You are 100% right... i was sorting using their tool, but that game version was omitted (but it worked on the list).
Anyways, I did install it and I get the following in game (below) I wonder if I am missing linking the guide some how?

Did you downgrade the interface?
Is that the addon and nothing added to it?

So open a working addon
Open this addon in the addons folder
Look for the TOC file and change the interface to match.
Hopefully that will be a start

No luck. The other working addon i have is: "## Interface: 30300" I changed all 3 RXPGuides.toc, RXPGuides-BCC.toc, RXPGuides-Classic.toc to "## Interface: 30300".
