Yeah, I'm probably gonna have to buy an ethernet card for my old PC so I can use it for editing, unless a workaround is found... I personally hope that the author of MPQFS will add write support soon. That would be perfect.

Alternatively, you could modify your Mac version's Common.mpq with the Windows software and then open the Mac version of World of Warcraft...

I don't fully remember the process, but I remember that back when I had access to a PC I used MyWarcraftStudio or something to that effect to directly edit the .MPQ (Open common.MPQ from the Mac, make changes, save/export) and it worked perfectly. Don't know if that's still possible, though.

    no edit works except:
    itemcache editing
    blp editing
    creature changes
EVERYTHING else will crash ur WoW at startup

Yes, using the "patch-enUS=8.MPQ" method, this is true. I don't see why a direct edit to the MPQ files wouldn't work, though.

The "patch-enUS-8.MPQ" method I was speaking of is the one where you drop the MPQ with what you want changed inside of your /World of Warcraft/Data/enUS/ folder and name it "patch-enUS-#.MPQ".

As for directly editing, I can't answer that easily. It's been a while, but I remember opening an MPQ with MyWarcraftStudio or something like that, modifying it, saving it, and copying the modified MPQ back to my Mac. I don't know if that still works.
