Did you by chance save the MPQ file as ".mpq" instead of ".MPQ"? it is case sensitive. Other then that, if you changed the spells as directed as above, it should work perfectly fine.

Also reffering back to the trinket trouble i had, I didnt look up the item ID itself, i looked up the item and clicked on the effect on wowdb.com (this should bring you to the buff you want to change). It was 1 number off for some reason. instead of a 4 at the end it was a 3

Yeah i actually had the same problem and i saw it from shaquille's post that it was ending to 4 for some reason.

Yup saving the files as Patch-_.MPQ. 90% certain that im using the correct IDs. Atleast I am using the ones that wowdb had for each spell

The thing about this thats got me wondering is that I did the race swap the proper way through glitchy and that did not work for me once i got into game either.. so i thought maybe it was a problem with my mefix but i reinstalled it and still nothing sooo drawing a blank

Glitchy's MES does NOT work model swaps anymore, in my guide I just showed you how to update the DBC files for the spells, so spell swapping would continue to work for it. I am not entirely sure how to update it for model swaps.

Nah i followed the guide step by step , the only thing i was doing wrong is what Coldman already said ... ".MPQ" and not ".mpq"

Thanks for the guide, it was very useful, and I got the spell swap I wanted working.
But there's a small problem:

It appears my spells have reverted to pre-patch values. Most apparently, Horn of Winter was patched to generate 10 runic power. But after my spell swap, it now costs 20 runic power, much like it did a few patches ago.
It won't let me cast horn of winter without 20 runic power, but when I do have 20, and I cast it, it gives me 10 runic power.

Also, Bone Armor was patched to be 20% damage reduction. But right now, my tooltip says 40% (like it was 1-2 patches ago).

My spell swap did not involve either of these spells. So that's kinda quirky.

The visual effects I swapped are working, but I still need to fix this problem, since now I can't cast horn of winter without any runic power. Any ideas?

that is very odd fuzzy, I will do a swap on my DK and try to see what that problem is. Ill get back to you tomorrow

Pretty sure it has something to do with old/new spell information now. I just noticed I don't have my Raise Ally spell, which was added last patch to specifically raise dead raid members.

Wild guess: something to do with extracting newer spells from a different DBC?

I swapped Horn of Winter to Priest's Shadowform. It only works if I have 32 Runic Power because it needs 32% of Base Mana but it let me gain 10 Runic Power. I want my DK as a Shadow Man when HoW is up, but this makes it impossible. Any solution to fix it?
