This is one of the fastest and and easiest way of changing items, but when it comes to change instances and so on the .m2/.blp way is the best

Re: GUIDE: DBC Editing - Weapons, Shields, and Armor

    IMPORTANT NOTE:
There are a couple of VERY important things the author left out, im guessing on accident:
    1. These changes will NOT be noticeable at log in screen, u must log in to see this (i was unaware of that)
    2. The numbers are only 1/2 backwards. If the numbers u have are 1234, when u put them in hex they arnt 4321, they actually will be 3412
    3. In hex editor, under edit, there is a feature that u press called replace. In here you type in the orignal number, then the number u want to replace it

Overall this is very good. I agree much less hastle then identifing all the blps. Id say its a lil more advanced, but much better because u can turn tunics into robes (i hate goldweave tunic). So +rep mate

Guess I did forget about numbers 1 and 3 though.

Is this bannable? I can't find any information on model editing being a bannable offense anywhere. Thanks in advance.

Is there any proof whatsoever behind this? I saw on a website that has model editing that a GM responded to a player's email on several occasions saying they basically "take no stance" on mode editing, however it is against their TOU.

I told myself, "Well, how would they possibly find out?" - but then again, Blizzard is the same company that sticks Warden on the client to scan your computer whilst you play.

Is it really all that safe, or is it going to be a risk? I really don't want to lose my 2 level 70's on my account just because I wanted to do some quick edit work on their gear.

    Thanks again for the help.

Re: GUIDE: DBC Editing - Weapons, Shields, and Armor

Check out my Compendium posts for banning information.

Anyway, yes you can theoretically get banned. It is against the TOS/EULA. But it's not possible to detect, and it can't be used for exploitation(Unless you're smart enough to figure out how, and damn stupid enough to do it.) So no, you won't be banned, but it's possible.
