[Question] WoW Client Language & Locale Swapping

    Hi all!

I am posting this here and not in the AddON section because I suspect that this is more similiar to model/sound/texture swapping than addon creation, even though some addons are effected.

I am currently an American studying in South Korea and I've just opened a new Korean WoW account. Although I expected all the in game language content to be changed I was really surprised to see that all of my addons that were English in USA WoW have been converted to Korean.

Can anyone tell me what files specifically control the language settings? I suppose it might be interesting to know about the sounds as well but I don't mind them. I'm mostly just interested in replacing the Korean quest texts (and spell descriptions) with the English ones from my US-WoW install and replacing the file that tells addons what language to display with the one from my English WoW.

After playing WoW since vanilla, I'm set in my ways... I don't want to remember a million new spell names, etc. Besides, my Korean language ability is somewhat mediocre.

Note: English is NOT a display language option in the Korean client. If it was I wouldn't be posting this question.

    안녕하세요!

I don't know if you found a solution yet but you can change your addon language from Korean to English easily.
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\World of Warcraft koKR\Interface\AddOns and open up the folder of the addon you want to be in English, I'll take Gladius for example. Try to locate a file called x-koKR.lua.
In the case of Gladius it can be found in \Gladius\localization\koKR.lua, simply delete that file and the addon will pick English as default language!

About the rest such as quests texts etc. I have no idea! I don't think it's possible without a major patch and changing files around.
