Question about animation swapping

Is simply switching animations around within the same animation set simple and easy? For example, changing the Human females unarmed special attack (when using skills) to the Human females kick animation. Is that something simple, as say just simply switching a file around?

If the answer is yes, could anyone give me a brief explaniation/guide? Thanks.
