Custom made Weapons?

Ok, here's the deal.. Is it possible to cut of some of the swords? like thunderfury, can u cut half of it out for example?, there are some spikes on the Azshara sword that i want to remove, but is it possible? i know how to change color, make logos etc on weapons but not how i can erase some parts of a sword.. any help would be appreciated

thats editing .m2 models, far as i kno it cant be done in TBC because the kind of file u turn the .m2 into cant be converted back >.<

however i've HEARD of it being done with the old 3dstom2 tool....damned if i know how though, lol
