    [Speculation] Custom Area IDs

Alright dudes and dudettes.. (Maybe even DudeITs), Tonight I come to MMOwned with a (Possibly) simple, modelediting question.

In Taliis, when you "Right-Click" a chunk, a menu pops up.

    (Awesome Space)
    (Another Awesome Space)

So, When you click on "Edit Flags", you can set the area id of that specific chunk. In short, when you go into that little area.. the zone changes.

My question is, If you create a custom Area ID. (Just in AreaTables.dbc, not in the xyz, etc .dbcs..), and punch that in to the above picture.. when you enter that specific chunk REGARDLESS of the zone you are currently in, would you change to that custom zone?

+Repx3 will be distributed to the person who can answer this with either photo-graphic proof, or a positive background (Big time modeleditor, nubs like me look up on you)

Taliis reads .ADTs that you open in the software, it doesn't scan your common.MPQ or patch-enGB.MPQ for .dbc updates... Therefore, simply due to the fact that Taliis can't find it. No.

Alright.. let me get more in depth..

If you edit the .dbc.. Let's say your custom area id is 9001..
and you put that into the chunk.. Wouldn't it read it when it loads the .adt file when both the .adts and the .dbcs are loaded in the MPQ? I'm thinking it would.. because Taliis doesnt say "Improper Area ID" it does it anyways. Can you test this for me? Whenever I try to make mpqs.. they never work properly.

Create a new zone ID in the DBC's (use some old one, like ED's ID and rename it to your new name), go to taliis and set it ID of that zone you just edited, and then it should be all working. you wont see the name change in nogg unless you make it read from the dbc, but it works ingame. just rember to pack the dbc in the mpqs.

Just as I thought.. Thanks for the help, I'll try using a DND or UNUSED zone ID, and redo the flags.

Just make a new etry that would be the same but then it really would be custom.
And to you question:yes that works. When you walk into that chunk ingame you will be in the 'new' zone.
