    [Question]Problem converting Cockatrice skin

Im tryin to convert the Cockatrice Elite White skin texture so I can edit it and no matter how I try to do it or what texture converter I use it comes out like this:

Ive seen an edit of the mount before so how do you convert the texture to/from so it can be edited and used?

Use an other converter. Or disable alpha channels.

In The GIMP, right-click on the layer and select "Add layer mask". Choose "transfer layer's alpha channel" and click OK. Then, right-click on the layer again and select "Disable layer mask". Now you can edit the image without worrying about the alpha channel making it looked screwed up. Make sure to re-enable the alpha channel and "merge visible layers" when you save it.

It DOES have an alpha channel, so do what I said and you'll be fine.

I opened the converted png in paint shop pro photo x2 and went to image -> delete alpha channel and it was grayed out... the image has no alpha channel.

P.S. I'm not an idiot, so please don't treat me like one. I tried helping you, but you obviously think you're smarter than me, and don't want to take my advice... Suit yourself.

I dunno what to tell ya I open the file in the image program Ive used to make textures for over 30 oblivion mods that Ive released and countless others I havent released and it does not have an alpha channel. No setting for masking or viewing/using/deleting an alpha channel works theyre all grayed out. I dont think your an idiot but somewhere somethin obviously isnt workin for me that is workin for you. Im no idiot either and certainly no stranger to modding. Ive been makin mods for games since the DooM 1 days so when I open an image and say it has no alpha channel... it doesnt.

Use this to convert between TGA and BLP:Files » Programs » TechnetiumBLP
It's what I use, and it does wonders.
