    [Question] Editing Fog, Ambient Lighting

I'm interested in making zone-wide changes to several zones; goals like reducing the feeling of haziness in Terokkar and Zangarmarsh, and lowering the light, increasing the atmosphere of desolation in Hellfire (which I mentally see as a sort of lunar landscape, no atmosphere, despite the logical problem of people being *alive* there).

Is this a reasonably possible task for a beginner? If so, where, and with what resources and guides, should I start? Are there skills I should acquire beforehand?
