im currently searching on google on how to un make a program have a default. no luck right now =( any suggestions or do u kno how to do it on XP and that might be able to guide me a road
o wierd the past posts never loaded for some reason so i assumed i never posted what i said. so i re posted it. lemme check out the guide
unfortunately didnt help, all these guides im reading is all about changing a defualt program to ANOTHER defualt. isntead of removing them completely
Blizzard Updater? wheres that? and how would that change it? i can try but im sure it will just bring up the screen to select prgram form a lsit. also heres a photo of something i just noticed, i was right about when that other guy said "just rename it with a .MPQ at the end. all it did was change the name not the actuall .mpq. notice in the red circle one of the patches shows patch-?.MPQ.mpq. so the problem IS that there lowercased.

Yes the problem is the lowercase .mpq, its the last thing in the name so that is the extention. You just renamed the part before the extention. Here is a picture of it. Its called updater, it was in my reccomended programs when i right clicked, open with..., but I'm sure you could find it other ways too:

WOOT! finally figured it out, im making a guide to how to do it right now so other ppl dont have problem, thanks sooooooo much for everything, i really appreciate it dude, u helped me narrow down the realy problem!
