If you don't already do, you should really start working for Blizzard![]()
Time: Three hours and a half
Setting it up in-game.
It's a little bit to big![]()
Time: Four Hours
Got the model complete, with shaders, in-game. So I got to my goal. A bit too tight.
Now I'll get to the process of fixing small details (such as size, position) and make a MPQ to release.
Looks awesome, but I think you should probably align the shield like a shield to the side of the characters arm, not in the hand. Also it looks a little bit weird to see the hand of the character. But else than that it is awesome! You made a nice shield in about 4 hours. I guess no one with blizzard could compete with you(I dont know if thats a correct english word)
lol Sheep....
Look really nice imoNow I'll get to the process of fixing small details (such as size, position) and make a MPQ to release.i like it ^^ simple is what i like

Alright, fixed everything there was to fix, so it's release time. 5 hours from project start to release including 2D concept.

Instructions are on the OP.
There are MANY things I want to improve. My previous models took four to five times this one, but for a speed run I'm quite satisfied with the result I got. Anyway, beyond the speed modeling, these are the things I intend to improve:
1) Improve the stars, not happy with them.
2) Improve the textures.
3) Improve the model a bit although I'm fairly happy with it.
4) Add more special effects.
Anyway thanks for C&Cs, every word/suggestion is welcome. I'll be reworking the entire model now, this time with more patience, since I got the initial goal achieved.
her arm is partly sticking outta the power ? :O remove dathehe
well i like it ^^ as i said earlier, simple is what i like![]()

It's simple for now.
Anyway, I didn't quite explain what the hell was with that shield, but so to explain now:
A friend of mine said Outerend was good portfolio material, but that the amount of time I took was obviously way out of the pipeline most companies work with, which is true. I decided to see how fast I could make a model for WoW from zero, given our current limitations.
If you notice from my posts you'll see the bunk of the time was spent getting the model to work in-game. The actual model and texture work times were minor... around two-three hours. I got my pipeline to do wow models pretty good, but it's still too slow compared to getting my models to work in my actual job, where you have a proper editor and guidelines.
I think that's more important than the model itself. With Tigurius' editor I presume the boring part will require you to spend much less time. For a speed run, it was a good result, but nowhere near the quality I wanted. So as happy as I am with the fact I finished a model in 4-5 hours, I'm not happy with the result. Then again I almost never am.
Anyway, off to polish the model a bit, so I can have something better in some hours.
