[WIP][World Building][Show-off]London Town

Hello, I'm back from gone and I just wanted to start one huge project. Since I'm kinda fan of the good ol' london town. Ima making it in WoW. I'm even making the london bridge in 3dsmax

Well, first ill show yoiu the map, the original one. I'ma making it realistic to WoW, so there will be a "Gamemap". I'll make the roads, hills and such after that. And when that's done I'll start making the 3D Custom Objects and inject them into WoW.

Offcourse I'll be making own textures and even going to try to make some ambient sound for the old london town.

The London town will be based on london around the 1750-1850.

I'll show you the progress right here:

The original London Town map:

Remapping for gameuse:last updated - 5-7-2010
day 1:
all marked roads are going to be ingame

day 2:
im done with the important river, bridges and the important roads for the town road structure.
=
Total progress: 50%
roads progress: 100%
houses progress: 0%
water progress: 100%
grass progress: 0%
3DSmax making London Tower Bridge:last updated - 6-7-2010
day 1:
did all the shaping and shizzle

day 2:
I think it's quite finished

did some retexturing on the road:

total progress: 100% DONE
3DSmax making Small Cottage:last updated - 6-7-2010
Day 1:
I had some help with texturing from a friend and making the walls.

Shaping: 100%
texturing: 100%
total progress: 100%
3DSmax making a Small City house:last updated - 8-7-2010
Day 1:
I had again help from a friend for a few textures (only the front actually)

Shaping: 100%
texturing: 100%
total progress: 100%
You are nowhere 32% total done on your screenshots (: Unless you only want to make a map of it

And I guess you got a guy who made you a m2 converter, because then pinky wants it too

im on 32 percent of mapping the roads, water and everything else that needs to be on a map.
I'm used to make maps first before starting building it.

I know. Before I started it, I was questioning myself, how long it could take me to create it. Could take me a month or 2. Though I really LOVE london from those ages (actually I love the 1600 the most.) Such ambiance, just bloody brilliant. I've got some powerfull programmers in my dev team of my server, which will help me to gain the software I need. Some of them are pro in world building to. And since they'll get payed, they will help me. Since they have to xD

The bridge needs alot of work, i know wow is low/poly game :P but when a object is that big, its allright to have more polys then what you made so far :P

Oh and by the way... Theres alot of M2 converters :P M2 is no problem, collision and viewdistance is...But again, its accutly not that hard either, it just takes hell of a time with no program to do it.

Hmm, while it's rendered it looks quite good. I had 3DSmax lessons on school, and well. I've been told to never use more poly's then neccesary. So that's what I did :P

I think the problem is more with the texturing than with the models. Can we see a closeup at a character's scale?

...Also, tower bridge didn't exist in the time period you're modeling, though that's probably not a big deal=P
