It works Yay! I get to use Manta's edit again. I wonder if this method is more easily tracked or not by warden or whatever Blizzard uses, though.

well either way, its progress. Credit should have been given, But hey its got me happy today . I am making Goblin/worgen swaps for each race now, Althrough they are not perfect, they can make due until a better fix comes along (helmfixes etc...). No luck with spell swapping yet -_- was hoping for that one a b it more lol

For everyone still having trouble, this is what he means:

    1. Locate your world of warcraft/DATA folder
    2. In your DATA folder create a new folder named "patch-Z.MPQ" (without the quotes)
    3. Download an old model edit from patch 3.3.3/3.3.5
-HERES A LINK TO A POST FOR ONE: http://www.mmowned.com/forums/world-...main-post.html
    4. Download a mpq editor
-HERES A LINK TO THE ONE I USED: MPQ Archives - Downloads
    5. Drag your model edit you downloaded from the link above into the MPQ editor.
    6. Right click on the Model edit folder you put in your MPQ editor, (EX: GnF to BeF.MPQ), and extract it to the patch-Z.MPQ folder you made in your world of warcraft/DATA folder.
    7. Once its done extrating you should see a character folder, an Item folder, a (listfile), and a (mes) in your patch-Z.MPQ folder.
    8. Restart wow, log in, and enjoy your new model edit!

This is "Chaisy" from Darknest... and while he should have credited his source, he did make a very nice graphic and explanation.

For everyone with failing model swaps: Your DBC files are out of date. They updated many of them in the 4.0.1 patch, so using a DBC from 3.x won't work unless it happens to be one of them that didn't get changed. Anything without a DBC edit should be fine.

You would only have Character and Item folders if you're doing a race swap. If you're doing a character to creature, or mount swap, you'd only have DBFilesClient because that's where all the creature data is held. Hope that makes sense :P

This, OP is leeching rep off of someone else's idea and crediting it as his own.

Works for the most part, this edit used to be perfect, however its little flaws are easy to ignore. Main flaw being the feet ^_^
Thanks for the info on how to do this! Rep +

I got the race swap working but I am having some trouble with some very messed up faces. Is this because I am using old race swaps? If so is there anything someone with almost no knowledge of this stuff can do to fix it?
