ok to avoid spam in here, I want to just kindly ask everyone who wants stuff done to put their requests in the proper place. They showed us how to get the edits working again, and if you can't put a little time and effort into learning how to model edit some on your own to understand basics, then please don't bother posting requests HERE. This is merely a tutorial on how to get them working for 4.0.1 and not a request thread. If he wants to do requests, he knows where to find them to do them.

    Also not!

Is there something 'fixed' for Moonkins? Only maybe 2 model swaps worked for me, from the 10+ I tried.

I don't really understand what you mean by "raw files". Is it not the actual old "patch-X.MPQ" files you need to have in that new folder you create?

every fem orc swap i made/extracted from pre patch MPQ's works fine. Might just be the file structure you are using. Its really easy though, just go into the Oldworld.MPQ file and extract the race you want to swap to, do some file renaming for a swap and bam you are done. My helms have looked fine on each swap, the only thing that did not change was the skin color. But i wear helms any way and my gear covers the small flaw. I am sure more depth could go into the skinning part though (seeing how those edits have been working just fine).

I am having trouble though, I extracted all the Spell.dbc files outside the enUS folder (in the corse data directory) and not a single dbc editor can open them up. Any ideas on this? Says it doesn't recognize the file type

Moonkin (Tauren) to Air Elemental (that one that's in Nagrand) and Moonkin (also Tauren) to Etherial.

Google for them if you want those with "site:www.mmowned.com", should turn up on first page in results.

Can someone explain step by step how this is done? From what I understand you just make a new folder named patch-Z.MPQ and put the patch-x that we have downloaded from this site previously. But from looking at the SS you have a bunch of other files and folders in there in addition to the patch.

Any clearing up will help a bunch! Thanks in advance and thank you so much for finding a way to getting the edits working with the patch

    1. Go to your World of Warcraft/Data directory.
    2. Make a new folder, name it "patch-Z.MPQ" (use capital letters)
    3. Download your model swap or whatever MPQ your trying to add.
    4. Use a program to extract your MPQ file, like mpqextractor (google it).
    5. Once you extracted those files in your folder (/patch-Z.MPQ) you should try and see if it works. For some people it works, for me.. nothing yet.

Ok, I got it to work, kinda. Looks a bit weird but it works. I used an edit from this thread:

    http://www.mmowned.com/forums/world-...new-edits.html

They seem to be well made. Try to extract the files from one and see if it works.
