I'm trying to change the tree (Ent) model (no 141) into Alexstrasza, but when I use DBC editor it crashes when I enter a non-numerical value in field 6 or 7, where the guide says I'm supposed to enter 'LadyAlexstrasaSkin'. Any help please?
Anyone can do a NE male > Alexstraza please?
she is definitly hot for a game character lol
Hi! i have been around, then i found out that custom models can be added, if you add a model to your private server, can you play real wow then?
is it just skins or what?
Nice one+Rep for sure man

can anyone make gnome female to alextrasza
That's a pretty skillful job, I'm impressed.
Thank you VERY MUCH. However, I am unable to get ahold of the "Model Edit Fix by Kynox" because he hosted it on a site that always tells me I am already downloading a file from a certain I.P. Tells me that everytime I visit that site -_-
Would appreciate it if somebody could upload it on a site that doesn't require Premium membership.
@Zalafina: I suggest you use Cypher's MEF as it never crashes unlike Kynox's MEF and also this particular model swap didn't work for me using Kynox's MEF.
@Kiteves: GnF->Alex
1) I downloaded the file "patch-Y.MPQ" that you so kindly made for me and placed it into the Data folder in the WoW folder. Then...
2) I downloaded the file "WrathModel-v20080729-02.zip" from the link you provided, copied all 3 files inside to my main WoW folder, and ran the "WrathModel.exe". Clicking "Launch" opens WoW successfully, but there is no change in my character model at the selection screen or in-game.
I then tried again with this updated MEF: "CypherMorph-v20080730-01.zip", but that corrupted my game and now it won't start. Using the Repair Tool doesn't fix it and neither does replacing WoW.exe that I had backed up. I had to reinstall WoW and patch it all over again.
What am I doing wrong? Your help is much appreciated.
It seems like my patch doesn't work. I don't have access to retail servers right now, I apologize for not being able to test it first. I'll make another one, test it on a private server and post it here later.
Also, when you tried to launch WoW normally, it gave you an error because you the patch-Y.MPQ was still in the data folder. If you want to run patches you must always run them with the MEF.
So it didn't corrupt your client, moving the file to another folder fixes he problem (shame you had to reinstall, sorry if it caused trouble - just so you know for next time).
Important note: While patching your game, make sure the patches are not in the data folder so they don't get mixed up with the original files and corrupt the game files!
Ahh, so just leaving the patch-y.MPQ in the data folder and THEN using the MEF that you linked to will work? Open it, click Launch etc? No need to do anything special in-game?
So basically if I want to run WoW without the custom patches I should just remove the extra .MPQ from the data folder?
Thanks for your information, very very helpful. IF you ever get around to doing a NE female to Alexstrasza, that would be sweet, but I'm already VERY grateful for doing the NE male one.
