    true, true.

Havent been here for too long, got off leecher and began to contribute some.
I looked at some world build/edit posts from a year+ back, and sadly saw around 1/3 or more never releasing, and over half of the released, good edits never getting much publicity.

ME needs a new direction, and i think a new (reformed) community is needed to find that.

    my 2c

That's kindof the whole point of the community, and that's what alot of the good model editors fail to see.
This community is by exploiters/hackers for exploiters/hackers.
Not by Model editors for Model editors.
No matter how many beautiful landscapes you create, how many zones u create from scratch, lowered ground
in WSG will always get more creds, because that is what people come to this site for.

    My 2 cents.

(I've been retired from MEing for a time now, but this is partly why I quit..)

I'm blaming DK, azo and the others that are complaining on how the community is, if they felt that way then why not open their mouth in the experts section so we could solve it...

Goshujiama, well im willing to help you. BUT the problem I see is that the people are not willing to think even a bit, without a 100% detailed guide they are totally lost, i prefer the old nogg-aholic principe: -Give Hints but dont Spoil.
Thats my opionion about that "theres not enough help" thing

heheh well of course a guide would be ace ;D, but i don't mind spending some good frustrating hours to figuring something out. Like how i got my first custom weapon working .. lol spend like a good 8 hours figuring that out even tough i had glitchy's guide xD.. but i am such a total noob at everything that has numbers or anything related to code (like flags, ribbons, ect) that as soon as that is involved i need a lot of more help xD .. I mean I read through that .m2 wiki page you posted and my only reaction was like "Wut ¯\(°_o)/¯" .. so ya that's kinda sucky for me xD .. i just have no idea what to do with that information T_T.

You know that sanity is not as it was meant to be
And now that misery has taken a new stand
In the land of a thousand souls we will carry on through the rain
In the sun we will move along with the memories of the slain
When I see this humanity and the evil that they have come to be
We've come to the point of no return and you beg for just...

One more time to escape from all this madness
One more time to be set free from all this sadness
And one last time to be the one who understands
My soul and my spirit will go on, for all of eternity

Dragonforce songs fit "zomagawd ima leaving" topics well :O

I've been checking in on MMOwned for a while now, maybe a year and a half. The other sections, exploits, exploration etc. are all fine and good but they're hardly interesting. The Model Editing sections were also nice for a quick browse now and then, but the real jewels in the pile of sand were the world edits.

I could really care less about reskins or model swaps, but world edits were amazing. It could completely reinvigorate my interest in the game, running around a redone Lordearon made to look like pre-WCIII period was one of the best times I've had with this game.

I am just some no-name poster, but I do want those of you who dedicated weeks to a single project, a world edit, to know that people out there do appreciate your work. And like it's been said: People don't necessarily come here for the model edits. If you really want to showcase your work where it'll be appreciated, make a video and post on warcraftmovies or another video site.

I wish you guys the best of luck and hope you continue to both create incredible new worlds and enjoy doing so.

Thank you. That's what I was thinking. Instead of posting finished edits, just make a video. Yeah it ends up taking more time on our part, but whatever.

AZO goodbye and farwell. Best of luck. I may not have that much rep, but I have been here for a long time, and I too see ME as an art form, so I pretty much can understand how you feel on this matter. Personally speaking I miss 06, ME has become so complicated since then. Back then even I could do at least some editing, and would on an often basis for my own enjoyment but then when Blizz nerfed it for the first time I sorta lost the time and patience to keep up with ME. So instead I turned to other's creations. Some may call it leeching, I dont however. I saw it in a different light. When I close my eyes I can see great ideas and imagine new ones, but when I turned to other's ideas in ME, I saw things which my mind could not conceive. Things that inspired me and broadened my own mind. When I looked at creations by you and the others here, I saw art, not exploits, I saw creativity, not knock offs. (And on a side note I never used ME's in game, I actually perfered to view them through WoWMapViewer) So again, farwell great artist, you will be missed. And remember it is not only the painter who enjoys the painting but those as well who see his painting. (And yes, I am sorry if this sounds like something someone would say at a funeral) =)
I've been here since Vanilla. God, I have no life.

This is werid, I actually agree with Demonkunga on a model editing thread.
Everyone can do a reskin of a weapong or something, it takes a good model editor to learn how to do the good world edits etc. Those are definitely what is worth looking at. A note, I dont think it's an art, but therefore i can still be amazed what some talented minds can do.
