I thought the same before i had my epic flyer, but i was so wrong...
You still need alot of gold to pay for your repair bills, gems, enchants etc. which all costs alot if you get new gear frequently.
Or maybe epic flyer for an alt

Yeah, didn't think of the alts lol. Enchants, Gems, and Repairs though have never been that bad for me. If I run instances both raid and 5 mans I normally get plenty of gold to make repairs and profit, I have a Tankadin and a demo Lock, both never really have much trouble with money other than that blasted 5kg for the epic lol.
