In Game Horde Leveling Guide

Tried it, loved it. Bought it, love it even more. Best guide out there no doubt.

Question though, if we purchased this Horde guide, will lifetime members be able to get the Alliance version, or will we have to pay for that as a separate guide?

Second, as the Alliance guide is a separate guide it is yet to be decided. It was initially going to be offered at a discounted rate for current members but I cannot be 100% on what the final verdict will be.

could just be me - but this is a site that prides itself on offering the greatest guides (usually pay for guides) for FREE to download and you are using it to sell your guide? something wrong with that?

when you say you have played idemise, joanna's, etc and based your guide on them - did you pay for those guide or get access to them here for FREE?

seems wierd you take info from/use other's pay guides for free from here and then you try to sell your guide - i believe that we should have acces to your guide just like we have acces to the other "pay" guides.

It was initially posted here for help from beta testers as all my testers are from MMOwned.

I have nothing against the guide being released here for FREE, as I am a fond user of this site and it would not be fair of me to criticise anyone who released it cracked. However due to the agreement between me and my partners I am forbidden to post it personally and it could cause conflict between the staff.

When I say I have played idemise, Joana's, etc. I won’t lie I got then for free quite a while ago when i used to play alot of wow, I downloaded them from a torrent before I even decided to create this guide. But since the creation of this guide we have purchased each one.

Your third statement is inaccurate as I have not downloaded a guide for quite a while and never have from mmowned. The latest version of these guides were each purchased before the statement from Aelwyn's Team was made.
Also Aelwyn's Guide is yet to use and will not use any information (we will not copy the steps or any wording) from any of the aforementioned guides.
We simply aim for improvements in the next version so we use the guides such as iDemise for inspiration. Nothing is, or will be directly copied.
For example, we liked how Zygor lay out his steps. So we are taking the concept of...
1. Do this
2. Do that
and implementing it. At no point did we copy any information.
Also we liked Joana's way of implementing the hunter quests. So we aim to have sub steps which automatically show for your particular class quests.

I hope this clears everything up mate and that it has enlightened a few of you with whats yet to come

lol I forgot about that. No that scam was for my old addon "Revelation Interface" Trust me when I wouldn't chance jeopardising my trust with my customers and actually scam people who have paid for the guide.

Unless you can look at the source yourself I guess there is no way in knowing that I'm telling the truth. But you have my word.

Also that old scam had flaws, when a user would visit the mailbox you would still hear the coin sound wow makes when you buy/sell stuff so you would definitely know if your gold went missing.
That scam project was abandoned long ago. If you do a search for Revelation Interface you can see just how out of date it really is.

I can assure you in no way is Aelwyn's Guide a scam.

The addon looks great! I'm going to fiddle around with it. I would love to buy this guide, but I'm (a little) paranoid on paying on the internet. At least when you are paying to another country.

Dude, this is insecure... You may want to find some way of password protecting the file because it can be downloaded really easy... All you need is half a braincell to realise the location of the file ¬_¬

We were going to impliment a dynamic file name system but we havent got around to it. A simple password on the zip would work but users already have to authenticate the addon on load so it could become annoying having a password for the compressed file then an authentication key for the addon.

I realise people could share the download location and password anyway. So their is no real protection unless its dynamic.

I would advise implementing a dynamic file system and also your activation code algorithm isn't secure, you don't even have to register to activate your version... Just a simple md5 encryption of inputted username, password and "guide" stuck on the end.

Good job with the guide and everything but anyone could just remove the activation frame from AGFrame.xml to have a free version of the guide.
