All members will receive an email message when their are any updates or changes to the addon, or the website.

The main website " Aelwyn's Home " will also be updated with the latest version numbers.

On another note the demo is now available at Curse.com | Downloads Forums News Blogs Guides Videos Screenshots | Curse

I was about to request either a demo or more detailed screen shots to get a better feel for how it looks in-game.

Going for the demo now. Thanks.

Ok I'd like to give you all a quick review.

The guide is incridible easy to use. There are however some things that needs to be fixed:

The arrow doesnt allways show the way to the right NPC - it can miss by a few yards, but even though it isnt much, it can cause confusion in org/sw etc.
I used the guide from 1-10 and it never said I needed to HS wich was a little weird, if Falling would edit it a little so it used the HS it would spare me (user) LOTS of time.
Last thing: It tells you to do one thing at a time and the grind is a little too heavy, example:

    Kill Zombies
    Get 7 claws
    Grind to 8
    -------------
    Kill Professor Frink
    Get "Badge of Madness"
    Kill Messiah Fra'lah
    ------------
    Deliver Zombie Killing.
    Deliver Kill Frink

(What I'm trying to say is that the guide doesn't tell you to do ½ of a quest first then ½ of another)

I would definately buy it if I had the money but till now I'll wait til it gets corrected a little.

    But I have a question,
Falling did you code it all yourself? Did you use any guide to plant in?

    edit:

quick warning, the redirection link is not allowed here and can get you banned, its called spam, so dont do it.

As Lyricalwarfare said, i think the grinds can be a little too heavy. after doinf 1-13 i haven't dinged because of a quest hand in one single time. there is a lot of places where it says "grind to lvl 3" grind to lvl 10" somtimes with 8 bars left.

apart from that this is a very good addon, and i think i will level my paladin because of this

Hi thanks for the feedback this is exactly whats needed.

    Lyricalwarfare
Most of the coding was done by me. I did get bits and pices of code from wowwiki which saved me some time. And I did use images that were found on the internet. for the arrows and such.
I used Zygor's guides to get the coords which helped out alot too.

I am no way a prfessional guide writer this is what I put together something I think is an easy way to level. Which is why I will be offering lifetime free updates for members.

In the near future If sales of the guide goes well I will look at getting some other experienced players who know the ins and outs of the guide and help make it even more detailed.
And even pinpoint all the waypoints to the decimal rather than rounding it off so that sorts out the arrow.

    Azujin
when releasing this guide I had no intention of it being so "Grind Heavy" and you will probably find that once you get into the main guide that it will start to even out a little. Although I've never experienced 8 Bars to go :S

At the end of every Level it says "Grind to Level XX" this is just their to warn the user they shoudl be leveling about now. Most of the time as you move further into the guide you will find you have already reached the next level.

If all goes well and I can get a team together I will also be looking at implementing. Vendors. Class quests, etc.

Thanks for the fast respond, shows how profesional you are!

But what limits does the beta have? I can't figure it out.

Those who downloaded the beta had no limits at all. But the guide was incomplete so they didnt get the full 1-70. However the limits on the demo only allows you to view 70 steps. depending on the class you are this could be between lvl 10-13.

Falling, don't you think that 30$ is a little over the edge? You said yourself, that the coding wasnt 100% done by you and wowiki saved you lots of time as well as using a finished arrow to use in your guide. Not only that, I have been told that the guide is buggy and the confirmation key registration process stage was a pain to do. Last thing I'd like to whine about is the lack of effort put into the guide. As I stated before, you (Zygor?) never mentioned to use HS durning 1-11 (Saw a HS @ 11 luckily), boring description that tells you to do one thing at a time and lastly, it isnt done. It doesnt tell you to get your class skills and vendor greys so you can..etc etc.

I feel the $30 is a fair price and at this stage there is no intention of changing it.
    As you are not paying for the guide but a lifetime membership which gives you access to any updates, addons, or modifications to the guide. So when the guide does include;
    Hearthstoning more,
    Vendoring,
    Class Quests,
    Class Skills,
    etc.

95% of the coding was done with me and although that 5% maybe saved me a few hours that few hours was appreciated.
I spent months, every day after work until after midnight and every weekend all day working on this guide. So it’s sad to hear you say "little effort" went into it and it’s kind of upsetting as I gave up a lot of spare time to create this.

You misunderstood me with the arrow. I used the finished arrow image. The coding behind the arrow took me several days to learn, then complete, as I had never coded anything like that with a wow interface before.

The step by step process was intentional, after all I wanted to steer away from the usual slab of text that you have to read just to find out what to do next. After all I'm not writing a story but I'm writing a guide. This approach makes it easier for users to find where they are in the guide, I found using other guides I constantly had to search for the part I was up to, alt tabbing or looking through a printout. That made may level times decrease and I felt like I was always running a marathon to beat the times of my guildies.

Aelwyn's Guide was designed so you don’t have to do a thing everything happens magically in front of you, you can still enjoy the game and follow the story of warcraft and you will always have little steps and a big arrow to guide you to your next objective.

Initially this guide was going to be free for all. But after the amount of time I put into this I needed something back so I can keep it alive and with help create the best guide on the market.

I'm sorry that you feel this way but I can assure you the effort that went into this guide is still continuing now.

I will be advertising positions soon for professional guide writers, testers & advertisers so for anyone interested in these positions can PM if they would like to be a part of this.

    I'm not paying $30.

I'll continue to use Zygor's + Cartographer or wait for it to show up here or on a P2P site. I don't care how good it is, the most I have EVER paid for a guide is $20 and that felt steep, $10-$15 would be more reasonable if you are trying to make a little for the time investment.

Most of the guides that work with addons are only $20 at MOST, and that's with all the bells and whistles, including professional looking PDFs and the addons themselves. Also since the quest data and coordinates are the same across most guides, I highly doubt you did everything from scratch and like took the data from elsewhere and built the addon around it, again not worth $30. And for those of you who will predictably say "if I don't like it, don't buy it." I assure you I won't, but being a fair market and all I am pointing out the cons of the price for this guide as compared to others for those who might be thinking of making a purchase. I have nothing against the author/programmer, but I feel he is being rather greedy.

I understand that you have put time into your work, but that doesnt mean that people should pay you that high. As Scibat stated, no guide has never, to date, had a price above 25$ And allthough I know that you have an arrow and so on I just dont see a reason for you to release it now where it doesnt, as you say, have class skills, vendor and HS points into it.
But fair enough, may your guide help people in need of it.

    Joanas Guide - $37.00
    Zygor's - $29.99
    iDemise - $35.00
    Brian Kopps - $35.00

I don’t see how mine is too expensive and mine is AUD not USD, not to mention mine is for a lifetime membership 100% free updates.
There is no PDF because there is no need, it's completely in game.

I don’t mind reading some constructive criticism, but can you please back the points up with some reasoning. I don’t understand why my guide is compared to other in game guides when It is built completely different.
Some people are acting like I cut and pasted a guide into cartographer or meta maps.
