ROFL, I know a guy who is lying to you. First of all, this post is completely clueless of the fact that bans can happen even without injection detection, but purely through behavior analysis server side. There is no way in hell someone has botted for 6 months straight 24/7. There are so many holes in this story.

Also, WTF, as a programmer myself, you can absolutely detect injected DLL, though even if you are a very determined hacker and you turn off debugging temporarily or switch off thread notification, or managed to use hiding techniques to make sure the DLL doesn't appear in a crash report, as soon as behavioral analysis detects bot behavior and the fact that you're injecting into the process becomes known, your code will be reachable by the module you're trying to attack.

DLL injection is not even bad. Hell, FRAPS use DLL injection for a lot of games. Do you get banned for that? No!

How does Blizzard ban people in waves? How do people who haven't botted in a month end up with a ban? Do they detect you and then store your name for a later ban wave? The more likely is that Blizz enumerates all mapped memory regions and sends a hash set of various offsets of all mapped memory segments to a server which then stores them so that if your cheat is ever eventually detected or made public you get banned retroactively.

Now, want to protect your code? I suppose you could wrap everything in a virtual machine and then interact with the process from outside of the it, but if it is known that is what you are doing, as I am certain Blizz's anti-cheat guys have thought of that possibility, then it can be detected.

Just remember this, client-side detection can almost always be circumvented by hackers. Server side detection is nearly impossible to beat due to some incredibly advanced behavioral analysis techniques that don't even need to actually detect 3rd party software. The problem is this, there are millions of WOW players. Does the server have the resources to spare to do software analysis server side on every single player playing the game 24/7? Or, do they spare the software analysis for people reported for botting? Or, maybe some other flags, like repeat offender accounts when starting new characters, or just randomly selecting people for analysis and so on?

In other words, your story is bullshit.

i know plenty of military programmers and they are almost useless compared to people i know on the other side of things. the government is not the fastest in the technology world. they couldnt even crack an apple account without trying to get apples help and they're tools online to do so that are cracked and can be used for free to rip the guys icloud.

anything done over the internet can be traced somewhat. its the amount of effort put into the tracing and their knowledge about tunneling etc and knowing how the person would go about making themselves "untracable" that usually leads to them getting caught.

Back at that time people were gaining 1k GPH while suicide farming Botanica, HoL, Gundrak etc with tons of accounts per computer (It is called suicide farming by purpose!)


Nowadays there is tons of more clever and profitable farming practices for WoW gold:

They can still be suicide into several raid trash areas, gaining 3-5k GPH, farming for felblight etc

or

more relaxed and safe farming LFR wings for the Satchel bonus with healer for ~6-10k gold/night
