Extremely fast JC recipe farming spot

In Uldum near the obelisk of the moon there are shizzleloads of mobs wandering on the stairs. (The place where you do the quest to bomb the packs with catapults)

They go around in packs of ten and all have ~60k HP. Each pack has one elite leader but shouldnt be that hard to kill. Just did it with my demo lock with 332 iLvl.

They also drop huge amounts of Embersilk cloth.

You can do the same with the mobs at the bottom of the hill that leads from wetlands to grim batol.

incorrect, i completed all uldum quests and they are still there. i've been drinking treasure pots trying to get this to drop, unfortunately we have only gotten like 500 stacks of embersilk and no pattern!

Also fully cleared uldum and I have those npc, I got a new enchanting recipie after 57 mins of farming. Also tons of cloth greens, over 100g of gray vendor... blizz will patch soon I fear.

I don't see how this is an exploit, it's pretty common for using these npcs for a lot of things. cloth grinding, lockboxing, etc. Belongs in guides, but is useful for someone to put it out there in case people didn't realize

I don't think potion of treasure finding increases the chance at all. Potion of treasure finding only gives you a chance to loot a little chest, that only contains a few gold, some cloth and one random volatile element. Can someone confirm otherwise?

And even though these mobs might be easy to kill, it's a cata world drop pattern. This means the droprate is something like 0.1. This means you can kill these mobs for months without getting it. Getting any blue item from a normal mob is just pure luck.

Edit: As of patch 4.0.6, these chests have improved loot. Pyrite ore, elementium ore and random greens atleast. Dunno about blue/recipes though.

99.9% of the time from Tiny chest ive gotten embersilk, random volatile (mostly earth) and random grey / green items nothing of real real value HOWEVER 1 time i did get an epic chest cloth robe from the tiny chest however note like i said 99.9% of the time it was other stuff i just got lucky and hit the .01% chance like people who get ashes of alar. But end the end extra cloth, volatiles, grey/green all is extra cash and even chances at things are still better then none at all. The patterns are i beileve in the end going to be like all other JC patterns....attached to a specific mob that has the higher drop rate and until a little time goes by not enough data yet. Just my thoughts.
