Introduction
Hello guys. After the last 2 guides in WOTLK I got some PM's where people asked if I continue to write some guides for cataclysm arena or espacially for druids in pvp.
If you're interested, you can find the old guides here ->

In the meantime I was writing a guide for Swifty (Swifty the Legend) and I thought that it would be a cool idea to share it here.
There will be some more guides in the future and I will constantly post them here, too. So just watch out.
I will also post a Q&A thread in the next few days
the Guide
Playing as a healer means you need to constantly keep the overview about you and your teammates, about the active buffs, hots, debuffs, cc and the positioning of your opponents and teammates. You need to make fast decisions and actions and that's why you cant waste time clicking group- or arena frames.
Targetting your mates
To make your life easier, I suggest you to keybind every partymember and yourself. You should find your own preference but I can give you some suggestions. I'm using a razer naga so my layout looks like this:
You should getting used to it very fast and you will realise that you can focus on more important things than moving the mouse around your screen.
how do you bind it?
Target Self: There is an option in the blizzard key binding-menu for it, just look under "targetting functions".
Target Mate1: You have 2 options. You can just bind "target partymember1" in the key binding-menu or, if you want a specific member all the time you click the button (I'm using specific binds), a macro.
The macro is simple:
/target nameofyourteammate
Target Mate2: If you went for the partymember option, just do the same here with "second partymember". If you went for the specific bind, just make another macro for your mate.
Target Mate 3&4: I guess you get the pointjust do what you prefer
Targetting Pets: You have the same options, bind it in the menu or doing a macro. The only difference is that the bind you search for is now named "target partypet1" and so on.
targetting your opponents
Targetting your opponents via keybinds is very popular, if not essential as a damage dealer. But as a druid healer you have to cc a lot. Clicking gladius will just slow down your gameplay, gimp your movement and your overview. Before we come to specific targetting I will give you a general hint. If you haven't already done it. Unbind TAB from "Next Enemy" and bind it to "Next Enemy Player" . While tabbing, you just don't want to get totems, pets, and whatsoever.
Back to specific targetting..Again, a razer naga is a huge advantage for easy binds here. This is the layout I'm using:
how do you bind it?
For targetting Arena1-3: You need 3 macros for it.
/target arena1
/target arena2
/target arena3
That's all.
Now we come to specific cc-targetting. That's a bit more complicated but after you get used to it you will notice how fast you actually are. There is another important thing. You have a huge opportunity if you cc like this. People can't tell WHO you gonna cc. They just know: "Okay he's cycloning" but they can't tell who is gonna cycloned because you can cc them while targetting your teammate for example.
the Macros
/cast [target=arena1] Cyclone
/cast [target=arena1,modifier:shift] Entangling Roots
/cast [target=arena1,modifier:ctrl] Hibernate
/cast [target=arena2] Cyclone
/cast [target=arena2,modifier:shift] Entangling Roots
/cast [target=arena2,modifier:ctrl] Hibernate
/cast [target=arena3] Cyclone
/cast [target=arena3,modifier:shift] Entangling Roots
/cast [target=arena3,modifier:ctrl] Hibernate
I'm also using focus macros because I always have somebody of the opponents in focus. Not only for cc, it's a good thing to keep track of the opponents and helps avoiding cc's like sheep or fear.
/cast [target=focus] Cyclone
/cast [target=focus] Entangling Roots
/cast [target=focus] Hibernate
All three macros do the same, they cc your current focus target
You don't need a razer naga it just makes your live easier. You can bind all of the above on any other key.
PS: You can also download the guide here -> http://swifty-gaming.com/html/EU-Res...Targetting.pdf
PSS: If anyone can tell me how I can fix my soundproblem I will stream and make videos again!
Problem description:
[spoiler]
As soon as I start to fraps/stream with xfire, my sound will just make cracking noises all the time. I'm using a second harddrive and I've never had problems like this before so I guess it's not a hardware problem. When I connect my headset to the onboard soundcard, the cracking while streaming is gone, the thing is just that I dont wanna miss my xfi sound :P[/spoiler]
