Easy way to make gold as an engineer.

This is my first guide here on Mmowned (along with first post), but I have been around on this site for over a year, and always checking out everything new I can find.

I searched, and found nothing like this guide so I hope you all enjoy!

First things first is you need to be an Engineer or know someone who is an engineer. The key to making a huge profit with very little time spent is selling a few pets that were recently changed from bind on pickup to bind on equip.

The first pet is the Tranquil Mechanical Yeti. This pet can be crafted by an engineer with 250 engineering skill and level 55. The quest giver for Are We There, Yeti? will teach you the schematic for the Tranquil Mechanical Yeti at the completion of the chain (after you've received your combat Yeti reward). After you complete the quest, you can learn how to create the Tranquil Mechanical Yeti.
The raw materials to create it are:
- 1 Cured Rugged Hide
- 4 Thorium Widget
- 2 Globe of Water
- 2 Truesilver Transformer
- 1 Gold Power Core

These sell on my server between 400 - 450g.

The next pet is the Pet Bombling. This schematic to create this pet is dropped off Mekgineer Thermaplugg. He is the final boss of Gnomeregan, and if you have the workshop key it takes about five minutes to get to him. The drop rate shown on websites is low, but that is because only engineers can see the schematic. It took me two kills to get the schematic. It also is required to have 205 engineering. The raw materials to create it are:
- 1 Big Iron Bomb
- 1 Heart of Fire
- 1 Fused Wiring (Engineering schematic can be purchased in Shattrath off of Viggz Shinesparked)
- 6 Mithril Bar

These sell on my server between 200 - 300g.

The last of the little engineering gems is Lil' Smoky. The schematic for Lil' smoky is found off the mobs in Gnomeregan called Arcane Nullifier X-21. The great thing about these mobs is they are along the way to the final boss Mekgineer Thermaplugg. Just like Mekgineer Thermaplugg, the drop rates on several websites are shown lower, however in reality they are a reasonable drop rate. I got mine off the fourth mob I killed, and there were about 4-5 of these mobs left before the final boss. The schematic requires 205 engineering. The The raw materials to create it are:
- 1 Core of Earth
- 1 Fused Wiring
- 2 Gyrochronatom
- 2 Mithril Bar
- 1 Truesilver Bar

These sell on my server between 200 - 300g.

i am selling pet bombling and lil' Smoky for a while but on my server prices not over 50-75g.

Tried this the day after the pets came out, 2 days later there were at least 10 of each on the AH for less than 50g. Certainly not worthwhile on my server.

How fast you get your Lil'Smoky schematic depends on your drop luck, I ran through Gnomegeran more than 20 times for it. Sure, you can make money with these but it's not the big business as you may have competition and the number of people willing to buy those is very limited. When I did it the only thing worth crafting was Lil'Smoky and I could sell one a week for 200-400g.

You forgot Lifelike mechanical Toad, rare but sometimes cheap on the AH, even if it's not cheap... a real engineer needs this schematic.

Also to those who have an economy selling these things for cheap, I would recommend holding onto a few for the Cataclysm release. People will be creating new toons, and rerolling to knew ones as well. Everyone wants those achievements, and it will be prime time to make some easy sales.

I also didn't add the toad because it is a world drop for the schematic. There is no true way to make a guide on it, except to say "use these materials." So I skipped on using that one.

Very odd a few people are saying the drop rate sucks. I got my schematics in two runs. Maybe just good luck, but to get the the final boss it only takes five minutes anyways and is worth doing to get it imo.

Maybe the droprate for Lil'Smokey is highered but it's still horrible. The other bombthing has a 100% chance afair.
