Patch 3.3 Kaluak Fishing Weekly Event Thought

Coming in patch 3.3.0, the esteemed tuskarr of the Kalu'ak are proud to introduce to Northrend the Kalu'ak Fishing Derby, a test of fishing skill with a healthy dash of luck! Every Wednesday beginning at 8 PM players can try to catch the elusive Blacktip Shark. Elder Clearwater sits in Dalaran for one hour awaiting the return of the quickest, most experienced fisher to bring him the first catch of the night. This champion fisher will be rewarded in-kind for his or her fishing expertise. Those who aren’t able to return with the first catch will still receive just reward for getting the Blacktip Shark to Elder Clearwater before he takes his leave.

It is said that these sharks’ favorite meal are the bite-sized Pygmy Suckerfish. Perhaps a hook in their waters will do the trick. Because of the increased concentration of fish, you have an increased chance to catch a shark from fishing pools. Don't forget, in patch 3.3.0 you never catch trash from fishing pools, regardless of skill.

Now, your probably thinking, big deal big deal. However the part that is most interesting is the last part. You no longer catch trash, which should include:

Mostly-eaten Bonescale Snapper

Now your also probably wondering what that has to do with anything. Well, you get an increased chance to catch the shark in pools. While it's nothing certain, that should include Pools of Blood. So, kill a animal, get the debuff, jump into water somewhere and start fishing for your shark.

As I'm not a hardcore fisher in wow, I have no comment on this aside of the fact that it might work. However, the reward:

 Dread Pirate Ring
      Binds on Account
      Unique-Equipped
      Finger
      +34 Stamina
      Requires level 1 to 80 (80)
      Equip: Improves critical strike rating by 53.
      Equip: Improves hit rating by 29.
      Equip: Experience gained from killing monsters and completing quests increased by 5%.

Anyone know if it will stack with chest + shoulders?

It will stack yes, there was some moaning on the official forums about how these +xp items shouldn't be "special rewards" and someone stated: we are happy with most people being able to have +20% xp collection with a few people a month being able to get a special item to gain 25%. I think I worded this badly -_-.

In short "yes it stacks and has been confirmed to be intentionally stackable."

As far as i know DoWork, it is being tested on the PTR currently, but from what i've heard people have been reporting it bugged in that they can't hand in the shark. Might be fixed by now (hopefully.)

Great post Pierre..some of those are avilable as actions with duplicate layer for preserving the original, but it would be great to see an update such as you siad, I also would like a filter enu revamping, should post that in a differtn thread.

the other concern i have is... on teh website it indicates that all the template files go inside the smarty/templates folder... so i have no idea how im going to get the index.html page up when ppl go to mydomain.com...
