Simple Mining (And partly herbalism) Guide to make you hundreds of gold.

Well... I feel as though I'm leeching because of not finding out all of this information myself, but who really cares when you're making a lot of gold? That's right, Everyone. I hereby take little credit for the find but this guide was all (Or mostly) me. hehe.

I've been in the MMowned community for quite some time now. (Would you believe it if I said I was here since I was 10 years old?) No that doesn't make me 13 years old.. It makes me 14. Well, Age just determines if you should know something, not if you could.

Anyway, I've seen a lot of the guides out there and some of them are a little..... bogus if I must say. Farm hours on end for one item, That will take a good 1-2 hours for something that sells for 500-1000 gold. (That would mean it's about 250-1000 an hour. That's a pretty big chance)

The first step inside of making your gold is figuring out, what item sells for the best for the time it takes to get it. Mining (and herbalism) seem to fit that category really. Before you continue reading, I must say this guide is for level 450 gatherers only.

Now skinning doesn't seem to make the money that mining (and herbalism) are making. Skinning is a good #3 in my book. With skinning it's fly around, find a spot, spend a couple minutes grinding, skin the dead bodies, then leave to another spot. That's simple right? Well even though, you DO however have a chance to make big money with the rare leather that any mob in northrend can produce, but skinning is simple and the prices are a little down on a lot of servers.

I'm sorry, I'm just blabbering on about information not really needed. I'll get to the actual guide now.

The second step is finding the right addons. The first addon you should get is called Routes.

Routes is a major addon in gathering. It's a must have to be honest.

The next addon is called Gathermate and the Gathermate DB.

Now I shouldn't really have the need to tell you on how to import the DB.
Here's a quote I found on curse about importing.

For those having trouble getting the data to load in the first place, my guess is that you need to go to gathermate options (Under interface) and select "Import Data" (Or whatever its called) and the load the gathermate_Data database. Select what you want (Fish, mining, etc) scroll down and then select import/load.

The next addon is called gatherer and the gatherer DB. Simply download gatherer, download the DB, then in game, right click the gatherer icon, select options, under the database tab at the left, select import. There's over 20k nodes!

The last addon is called auctionator.

That will, well, help with selling your gathers.

Now, after all that's out of the way, we need to go ingame and type in

/routes

A screen will appear and you have to click on "Add". You will see a bunch of different features. You should first select the region at which you want the route to be calculated. If you type in the name first then select the region, you'll have to type in the name again.

Scroll down and select everything you want to gather. (Really everything under mining or herbalism. If you have both have a macro set up to do /castsequence Find Minerals, Find Herbs)

After everything is selected, scroll all the way down and click the create route button. Now at the left side under the routes tab, you should see your new route location. Click the red + and then click the new one that appears which should be what you named the route.

click route optimization and click the checkbox down below that should say something along the lines of improving the route that recommended should leave off. Turn it on! it's very important. Then click the optimize route button at the top.

Next, scroll down and click the foreground, not the background, button.
This will cause your game to "Hang" a bit as said by the addon. Now, you should exit out of the routes window (unless you want to set up a taboo region which blocks off all ores in the selected region. Pretty self explainatory on how to create one and enable it for your specific route)

Now, for the long 30 minute part, cycling around the route on your flying mount dropping down and gathering. I have yet to say which regions are the best. I really shouldn't say, because then the region will get cleaned out and nobody will make money, but I will for the sake of you guys. This region is Icecrown. Sholazar basin for herbalism and Icecrown for mining.

Simply put, go around those areas and when you've completed a full cycle in the route, go to the auction house and sell all of your gathered things. repeat this process. On average, around 600 gold can be made in 30 minutes with an epic flyer. that's around 1200 gold an hour! Amazing right? When I found out about these prices, I was literally speechless (Because I had noone to talk to at the time =P)

Use auctionator to do your auctions with the new sell and buy tabs. This addon truly destroyed the market prices with the automatic undercutting and what-not, but hey, you'll still make money and that's the important thing. Of course, the 1200 gold an hour was even by undercutting everyone!!!

Repeat the route and you're good to go!

Yeah, well you see I didn't know this was posted several times. I feel some people are just very lazy and don't want to go through pages and pages of stuff to find something like this. (Such as myself)
