How to make a nice application!
Well, after I’ve seen the ”Joining a guild guide” I thought it would be a good idea to show people how to make a prober application
I know that the ”Joining a guild guide” tells you a bit about it, but I don’t think it’s enough.
After I’ve seen a lot of really bad applications I started thinking that it must end. Then now I’m going to show you how to make an application that makes an impress on the guilds
1. Guild Rules
The first thing always to do is to read all of the guild’s rules. You always wants to know their rules because you can use it a lot in your application (I’m getting on to that later) Some guild wants you to write a little note or something in your application that you can find in their guild rules to be sure that you have wrote the rules. So while you are reading the rules, keep an eye out for it.
2. Starting the application
After you’ve read the application you want to start out making the application.
Topic: NEVER write something like “imba dudez0r wants to join shizzle guild”. You always wants to have some information in your topic like “ Vessin – 80 Shadow-Priest” Capital letters can make it look a lot more attractive to read. Keep in mind that you mostly need to login to a guild’s website to make an application. Always make your username the same as your character, because it can be confusing for the reader looking on replies and such.
Now you are going to start writing the application. Always keep an eye out for application templates and such. Making your own template can be a risky choice because the guild have made their own template to get the information they want.
So now, go paste in the application template.
How not to fill out the first part of the application:
(Mostly the first part of the application will look like this)
Character information
1. Character Name: vessin
2. Class: priest
3. Specc: shadow
4. Alternative Specc: holy
5. Armory Link: *Insert armory link here* eu.wowarmory.com/(something here)
How you fill out the first part nicely:
Character Information
1. Name: Vessin
2. Class: Priest
3. Specc: (14/0/57) Shadow specc
4. Alternative Specc: Holy, but I won’t prefer it, because I don’t have so much healing gear ;-)
5. Armory Link: eu.wowarmory.com/(something here) (Make it a clickable link if the website supports this)
As you see in the first example that the guy who has written this haven’t spent any time on making the application
In the second example you can see that the person who is writing this, is letting out some more information about himself to make the guild believe in what he is writing. A thing to notice is the high-lights. He made that high-lighted, because it gives a nice overview of the application and that makes it easier for the officers to get back to the application, and find the information they need, faster. Already there you’ve made a good impress on the guild.
NOTE: Always remove small unworthy text as *Insert armory link here* and stuff like that. Use only a small amount of smileys or else it will be confusing look at.
Now to the next part of the application.
I’m going to make this part shortly because you have to fill it in with your own personal information and such. Always remember to write as much as possible to each question.
Notes for your application:
• Use highlights – It will look better!
• Remember capital letters where it is needed
• Inform the guild about yourself as much as possible to make the guild know you more and more.
• Only a few amount of smileys, but always make some
• NEVER use “shizzle” language. Be Mature!
• Look for typing mistakes when you are done writing
Now I’m going to give you some pictures of how an application should look and how it shouldn’t
