Hay guys, news flash! Not everyone has TBC, believe it or not.
This in most cases (as I'm sure the more affluent among you know) causes higher prices on the old world stuff as fewer people are farming it, but everyone still needs at least some of it -- whether you're an alt levelling up or a 60 without TBC. Case in point, thorium on my server sells for more than adamantite; simply because fewer people mine thorium, but every blacksmith, engineer and jewelcrafter levelling up will need thorium.
This may or may not be the case for this stuff depending on your server, but don't dismiss pre-TBC epics simply because Outlands greens can be better. Doesn't make this a fail guide.
People have solo'd Onyxia, a 40 man raid BOSS. I have no reason to believe someone decently geared and skilled couldn't solo some raid trash. Perhaps not something to be accomplished in greens and blues though
