bring up the command line ( start -> run -> "cmd" ), change to the directory where the lua.exe and the script is, and run "lua myscript.lua" or whatever you named the file it will then write a 12 character long sting in that commanline, which you then use to replace the one in the next step.

I am definately going to try this I use this add-on an it seems to be very stable and easy to use when trying to remember what quest I am on and what its objective is.

i did what you said but when i go into wow i get the following errors

interface\addons\carbonite\carbonite.lua:3 unexpected symbol neal '\'

and then when i click ok on the error, i get

[string "NXMinimapBut:OnUpdate"]:1: attempt to index global 'NX' (a nil value)

any idea what might be wrong?

can someone pls post a cracked file, I have tried this for about 3 hours and couldn't figure it out.

Or can someone post me the link (private msg me the link) and explain it very clearly for me, it would be greatly appreciated.

I mean no disrespect to you Moritz, I just have no experiance with this sort of thing so am very noob, I would be hugely in debt to whoever can help me out here.

ok, I attempted again, the output.txt I am getting is blank. I have the carbonite lua in the folder that I have the lua.exe in, does it have to be in my wow folder? am I suppose to change anything in the code to suit my acccount??

Good work Mor, Your contribution definitely needs some recognition.

Even decompiling it is good work, and yes it looks funky. But they purposely made it like that, difficult to read.

Try the file in the post right above you , should be a user friendly 'crack'. Hopefully with no time limit and at least no clear text reference to the leaker.

On a more technical note: The only thing I havn't been able to try (no wow account) is what happens if you change the second 12 Character String (the function is named "Nx.localxor:iforif()" in Carbonite.decrypted), as I said earlier that may be a Version-unique string (means: It is the same for all users downloading 1.68 version) or a download unique string (means: you'd need to change it to be able to hide who leaked the version). Maybe it is possible to change it to anything or it's not, somebody needs to try .

Also there might be other references in the file that tell them when they find the version on the net whose account to revoke.

thank you for the "user freindly crack" lol It's very nice of you to put in the extra effort for ppl like me :wave: who don't know squat about this stuff.



I still couldn't get it to work though. I'm using v 1.67 atm and it works good, so as long as nobody tells me what I'm missing I'll be fine. Thanks anyway Moritz.

Does the realm name differ for EU realms?, i mean does it have to look like Azeroth-EU ?
