to OP you should add to your original post they you can download a "FREE" version of the authenticator for your cell phone or ipod touch. you might be able to use it on the ipad but i'm not sure. phone that can use the mobile authenticator that i know of are ipods and all android phones like the G1 mytouch HTC ect.

Didn't read through all the pages, but I just wanted to mention that it is possible to hack an account with an authenticator, just a million times harder.

They can put a program similar to a keylogger than will watch your auth codes, and then guess at them for the people hacking the account. So like I said, it's much harder, and requires much more sophisticated keyloggers, but it is doable.
