    [How To] Recognize Youtube Scams

    [How To] Recognize Youtube Scams
Youtube Scams are probably some of the most common scams in the internet. They are just videos leading you into thinking that there is something amazing that you have to try out and they usually involve you giving something to gain this "awesome" thing.

Here's some of the most common WoW related youtube scams:

    1. Gamecard Generators- These are tricks that say the will "multiply" your 1 gamecard into several others. There are many variations of it like programs that send your gamecard to them, or just a simple "bot" that is actually you just sending them your code by e-mail. Also, there are some web phishers that have this concept. People also sometimes upload videos with keyloggers saying they are generators, so avoid these at all times.

Most, will look something along the lines of this:

    2. GM Power- A simple account scam, like above it is basically the same thing but saying that you will obtain GM Powers at the cost of your account information. There are programs and e-mail scams usually for this form of youtube scam.

They will usually look like this:

    3. Cataclysm- This is a very popular youtube scam right now saying that you can sign up for a cataclysm alpha/beta test. And, they link you to a phisher. And when you input your account information into the site it is stolen.

    Usually something like this:

    4. CD-Key Generators- The same concept of Gamecard Generator, but with CD-keys in the place of Gamecards.

Looks something like these most of the time:

    5. WoW "Hack"- This is a video stating there is a undetected WoW "hack" for free. when you download it you either receive a virus or a program wanting your account information, and when you input it it is mailed to that person.

    Along the lines of this:

ALSO! Do not be fooled by comments saying that it worked, they are fake and have be done so that they can trick you!

Hope I could help inform people about these types of scams on youtube, and how to recognize them!

    WTF THOSE ARE MY VIDS!
    /end sarcasm

    +rep

As with the comments saying they work, those posters have phishing vids themselves, and use it as a way of advertisement.

    Don't forget the big thing:

Any video that tells you to email someone with any sort of information (codes, names, passwords, etc) is going to be fake.

[incoming demise of my own video]

Dont trust any videos like that on youtube the simple rule to follow imo is if something looks to good to be true then it proberly is, think about it if there was an actual gamecard duplicater, why would he release it for free? if someone had a gamecard duplicater the chances are they would buy one gamecard duplicate it then sell on. Anything and i dont mean just youtube videos, any email, videos, website ect what you see what is asking you give something up dont bother chances are you will loose it better to have something then nothing at all.

    Could have been really short:

"Any video on YouTube regarding Registering, Signing Up, Opting In, or Downloading something to augment your account, get access to new content, or 'hack' the game is fake. Blizzard has stated that they will never use YouTube to directly reach the WoW community. Any video regarding such is fake. Never enter a password into anything you find on the internet besides World of Warcraft Community Site or Welcome to Battle.net. Blizzard has nothing that you need to download and enter information into besides the WoW Clients."
