this is a pretty risky scam.. so i'm not gonna try it but i think it would work.
huh. that's weird. I just buy my GC's at video game stores, such as Game Stop. If you're careful in how you open the package, it shouldn't be noticable that the box was even ever opened. So you return the box and say, "I got these as gifts from relatives, but I don't play WoW anymore, so I'm returning them..." and they SHOULD say, OK. Maybe something along the lines of, "Did you open them? etc. etc. etc." And of course, you say no, I just got them. I would almost think they have to accept them as returned, since you "didn't" open the box and or scratch of the cover on the code. If they refuse to return them, make a big deal about it. Say, "Why not? It specifically says unless they've been scratched off cannot they not be returned. I'll even trade it for store credit, I don't care. I just don't want the game cards." If they still refuse, ask to speak to a manager. If s/he still refuses, I guess just leave, and say you are going to complain to a higher up. That or go to a different Store, lol. :P Best of luck!![]()

LMFAO @ Fearsoldier
"You do realize this isn't just a scam? I have no problem with scams and have done many myself, but this is just plain illegal, just as a warning this will get you into deep shit if for any reason your caught."
Um... the word Scam...
"A fraudulent business scheme; a swindle. Illicit and illegal activity to better oneself at the cost of another."
OF COURSE IT IS ILLEGAL.
Tard.
To Roller:
I worked part time at Best Buy a few years back, when they first started getting EverQuest game cards in stock. We had 3 different people return to the store with cards that had "been activated" before they were purchased. The store manager took their names, and gave them fresh cards. Each time, he said he knew it was bogus, and they had scored free game cards, but he did not even care. As long as it was a one-time thing, and they never came back to his store, it did not even matter to him.
Bottom line? Yes, this scam will work if the person on the phone is at a large store, and are totally retarded. Places like Best Buy, Wal-Mart, any of the department stores with 20-30 people working per shift... YES I would say you have EXCELLENT odds of scoring.
Smaller places, GameStop, EB Games, Babbage's, the Mom and Pop style "Trade-A-game" stores, any of the places with 2-3 people per shift working? I would not even try it, they are usually gamers themselves, and not some 60 year old waiting for retirement from the retail world...
In fact, I would put Wal-Mart and it's seemingly endless supply of antique mall refugee employees at the very TOP of the scam list for this one, as most older people will be clueless and not even care... hell, go to your local Wal-Mart and pass through, see who is working. If it is a relic that looks 90 years old, it is an easy score.
Another note... as a Blizz Representive, you might tell the person you call to add the now opened and void GameCard to Devo or Damaged Goods since it has been opened and scanned through the system. Just tell them you voided one code from the one card to prevent recalling the rest of the shipment. At the central returns warehouse, they will see it, claim it as loss, remove it from inventory control, and destroy it anyway.
