Personal loot - Alani mount

Hey,

With the new looting system in Legion everyone in a group is supposed get the same loot.

There were several guides for farming Alani in a group of 40 people where everyone is going to get their mount.

I have already tried killing Alani with 2 players in my group, but only 2 out of 3 get their mount (the 3rd player was not able to loot the corpse). What am I doing wrong? Should I switch to raid with free for all?

Make sure each player damages Alani at least once during the encounter
