Massive Bot Banwave - 8/9/2015
I'm not certain if it's Rebot or Honorbuddy, but there's been a massive banwave as of the 8/9/2015.
My account got banned and I used both of them. If you check both Rebot's and HB's forums there's quite a lot of people talking about it.
Considering the amount of players they've lost, you'd think Blizzard would be happy to keep botters going but apparently not.
I wonder what the playerbase figures will say next time Blizzard release them.

no banwave on HB's side. So it's pretty definitive.

There were some bans on Rebot, but probably not banwave. HB is still OK.

I should've screenshotted it. I complained about my ban (since it was my first offence ever) and the GM confirmed there'd been a very large ban wave gone out.

Probably player reports, or heuristics (behavior-based ban). Not a software detection ban. Some firehack players reported being banned too and claiming to not use any other 3rd party tool. But most of the userbase is reporting not being banned.

Seriously guys! I barely seen anyone in this thread, around us for less than 5 years!
And noone have seen for batch bans? Blizzard were just holding several hundreds of ban records to push them all in weekly-reset day. To scare the botting base, nothing new or different.

tell you what.. if you spend any time at all reading ban report sections on any forum.. you shouldn't be cheating in video games..
people are going to get banned all day every day.
Cost of doing business..

Happens all the time, it's not a 'Banwave'.
The reason you tend to see a bigger group of people all banned at once is just simply due to the fact that Bliz appears to process groups of bans all at the same time, usually related to player reports, pattern-analysis etc.
Banwaves tend to be more based on software/exploit detection.

well people throw around the term ban wave without knowing what it means and with all the miss use of ban wave more and more people keep using it to describe few bans.

Depends on the amount of the bot subscribers. If u used ReBot you are pretty much screwed. It has been detected. Banhammer was planned for atleast 1 month and everything connected to flagged accounts is going to be banned permanently (IP, e-mail ect.).
It takes several mins to receive a ban on fresh acc under flagged IP using this bot.
