Haven't posted here for a while but I figured it would be a good place to start with showing you guys this new anti-exploiting system that Blizzard has implemented into the game in WoD beta.
Basically, it stops people from abusing instant respawn locations by giving players only 10% experience after a certain amount of time farming in said locations.
I made a video showing what I know about the new system and I'll add a list of FAQ's below.
FAQ's
Does this effect instances/scenarios?
-Yes, my first video was an infinite respawn location in a quest scenario and the same thing happened to me there.
Will resetting the instance reset your experience back to 100%?
-Yes
In the open world, how long does this 10% exp timer take to reset?
-1 or 2 hours
Can you go to another realm and farm the same open world area to reset the timer?
-No, which surprised me a lot, but I might have done it incorrectly, I will try more testing with this in the future.
Is the reduced exp based on your proximity to the dead piles of mobs?
-Yes, which is why I was confused that cross realming a spot didn't work. It seemed that if I got far enough away from the pile of dead mobs, I would start to get 100% experience again. Note-I was killing the exact same type of mobs.
Does this effect loot?
-I'm not sure
Is this linked to your character or is it linked to your location?
-I think it is linked to your location
Does going into a different zone reset it?
-No, I went all the way to Stormwind and back to the Spires of Arak and still got 10% exp
Does relogging fix it?
-No, not even if you log completely out of your Battle.net account
Will this effect spots outside of the new WoD zones?
-Not sure
As far as I know, I'm the only person who has discovered this but if you guys have had anything similar happen to you in the WoD beta, let me know so I can figure this out more.
