Getting old items back on an account thats not yours

Hi i recently purchased an unmerged wow account. The account was active from 2005->2009 and has titles like champion of the naruu and hand of adal. It also has 200 days played.

So looking through all the bags/bank its all wotlk level 80 items. This account must have had older possibly un-obtainable items. Is there a way to check for things like this? I was told by the person i bought it from that i could make a GM ticket. But in my mind that seems like it would be so obvious that i bought the account and get it an instant-ban.

So could anyone help me with doing this or a way to do this? If i were to ticket a GM i would not even know what to say.

Not going to happen. Blizzard only keep logs for a few months, and they will now only restore items that've been deleted up to two months ago.

So if i were to try to get a restoration. What would i put in the ticket? Like i have no idea what i would even say

You don't know that, its impossible to tell.


Just because the toon has 200days played on it doesnt mean it has old stuff on it. The original owned could have just deleted the gear themselves as it got out dated(that IF it was even a good player in the first place),
who knew back then that t3, ashbringer, ZG, everything else etc would be removed and you can never get that stuff again and to keep it all.

Blizzard AT MOST ONLY restores deleted characters on that account, they cant restore items for you that are 7 years old that you may or may not have had. Think of every grey, every green, every single thing that toon has owned since 2004. its impossible to log all that for every character ever made.


I sold an account yesterday with 182days played on an 80 rogue. The rogue had no good gear, no good achievements or anything, sure it had lots of /played time, but doesnt make it good.


Does the toon have any achievements like realm firsts or anything? if not its probably just some casual raiding no lifer with lots of /played. You can ticket them, wont do anything bad, but they will ask for specific things you'd want to get restored (they wont do this though as its WAY TO OLD)

Well it has Champion of the Naaru, Has items from Onyxia 40 in the bank still like the Onyxia blood talisman, Has all classic raid achievements earned on the day of the wotlk patch (so pre-wotlk), aswell as a bunch of BC raid achievements (Pre-Wotlk)

90% of unmerged accounts have those :P that was the content in those days so everyone did them.

Either way blizzard wont restore items, they will go as far as restoring toons, sometimes they cant even do that.

Alright. That makes me sad a bit on this inside :P Atleast i got champion of the naaru title.

Restored an almost 4 year old Arcanite Ripper during late Cataclysm. Never say never.

Would you mind shedding some light on how you did so? What did you say to the GM in the ticket?

In cata it was 2 years, a GM leaked it. (I guess he didn't know not to tell me?) 100% for sure know I'm right.

Well, it seems like it could heavily depend on the GM you get when asking about this.

I bought my account back after someone else owned it for around 8 months, with some legendaries deleted (Thori'Dal, Binding of the Windseeker.)

The GM told me it couldn't be reinstated as it was too long ago (items will have been deleted between three and eights months ago) and to use the item restoration feature in the future, so who knows if it'd work or not.
