2 computer, 1 router and WoW

Hi!

I'm really clueless when it comes to computers, so if someone could answer these questions i would be happy.

I just bought a new computer and want to use my old one to run farm bot on it. I want them to look complety different, no connections at all, so when the banhammer comes there is zero chance to loose my main account. So i bought a router to split the internet connection. Is there anything special setup/data/options i should change so Blizzard can't detect that these computers connected to eachother? For example now both computer has the same IP, i gues that's not good at all.

If you bot on Account A but not on Account B they'll never be able to ban account B. Doesn't matter if they're on the same PC even. Your setup is safe enough, no worries.

Here's my story:

Boyfriend was on an account botting.
I was NOT online at the same time. Nor have I ever botted on my account I have now.

we we're both Temp banned.


No he didn't trade anything to my account in any way.

If they're 2 computers, that means 2 different MAC adress (brother or neighbour and you for exampe) so if you do not break the TOS, you are safe on your main ACC.
If you would do all of this on the same pc, that'd be problem probably.
Of course they're banning all account on IP but I don't think it would be this case when you are running 1 bot.

Well, that's confusing. First you say my main acc is safe couse of different MAC adress, then you say they bann every acc on the same IP. Now what?

Is it possible to give different IP adress to the computers with the router?

Sorry if I wasn't clear enough.
In my opinion and experience mainly, they look at the MAC adress first. Because there can be someone else (Your brother or you are sharing house with someone) so no reason to ban them. But if you IP adress is really dirty and you did "really bad" things, they can ban every ACC on the IP (sometimes even the IP so you can't connect afterwards).

Well, My provider in my country can't do that. If I'd want different Ip adresses I'd have to buy another "Ip connection/router" or whatever you call it

Ok to maybe give some practical tips to you:
What Rhonso says is true: They might ban you for sharing the same MAC-Address. That is not the case having two computers. If you plan to expand botting two accounts on one machine, you might look into virtualization, that is less power output but more secure.

The second point: The IP, I don't know how sensitive they ban, but if you have _always_ the same IP and Log-On Times, it is obvious that you are one-and-the-same Person.
It is easy to get a extra adress but it will be a fee of about 2$/€ per month per account you want to seperate.

There are several methods and a shitload of providers. Just make sure you have one in the same country you live in. (Others tend to say: Use a completely other, so you can say you were hacked. it's up to you)
-> VPN (_every_ windows computer is able to connect to it. It's like a tunnel straight to a online-computer) (There was some service called perfect-privacy)
-> SOCKS4/SOCKS5/HTTPS Proxy (You need a software like the proxifier (or freecap, some freeware software) to connect to). Warning: Though there are plenty of free proxies, I wouldn't use them, they are too obvious, laggy, unstable and you might get banned because of a exploiter also using that proxy
-> openVPN (like VPN but with a different client, maybe cheaper)

So that are the common three. You have now about 2 choices to make: a) You can buy some of that services directly or b) Set up a own online box. The pricing should be nearly equaly, but the latter is a bit more powerful (if you'd need some homepage as well^^)

The difference is deeper: Where as the first one is used by mulitple (wow players?) persons, the latter is only used by you.
Both methods may come with a little contact of Blizz because of IP matches or the latter happend to me personally: Because my IP was never changing (that's the case using b, _always_ the same IP)

For Both the following excuse is valid :P You live in some university housing (Studentenwohnheim in Germany^^) and they block many ports (like WoW) so you need some VPN/Socks Service to make WoW run for you. They'll immediately unban you (if not banned because of botting, obviously).

Edit: You are heading to big trouble. Did you already start botting?
Consider the following: You did play with your main account on the old computer having "MAC A"
Now you want to play with your main account on the new computer having "MAC B", however "MAC A" will proceed logging in and getting banned.
You might say: "Well I sold the computer", but I don't know whether they'll tell you, that you have triggerd the MAC-detection.
So I'd use the old computer for legit playing. You might use VNC to control the game on the new one and really executing wow on the old one.

However: That might only care if your bot account get's banned, which you should evade. Just don't overdo and you'll be fine. Automatic as well as player-triggerd mechanism's only trigger on extreme behaviour

Are you sure? Because I was planning to setup a vpn on every account i bot on.

Could you maybe quote the TOS? And what is your opinion: If you say, you have the choice between not playing WoW and playing through a vpn, wouldn't they agree it's good to use one?

If you want to use VPN, then you need personal just for your use.

If you don't bot with your Main Account, IT IS SAFE, nothing more to say. I have lost some accounts, Main was never banned... all same IP...
