Battle.net to Battle.net transfer question

I wanted to check / share if a method that I used a while back is still valid. I used this when transferring bought SoR characters to my main account. If anyone can clarify that this still works it would be greatly appreciated:

Note: I don't know if it still works, the last time I did this was a week after the account wide achieve/pet/mount patch dropped

1. I took an extra safety measure and made a separate battle.net with the same Surname as my own to murge them onto.
2. After merging the accounts I do not login to the game. I checked the characters on the account within the character transfer interface of battle.net.
3. If something looks good like lvl 60/70/80 characters, I took a punt and transfered them to my own battle.net account.
4. After the transfer to my own battle.net account, log the characters and any acheive/pet/mount goodies were then populated/shared to my battle.net.

In a nutshell; Will a character as long as it is never logged into the game since the account wide patch, transfer all the achievements/mounts/pets when moved from one battle.net to anouther?

An additional question if the above is still valid; Can I log the account, but only go the character selection screen to check them out, then do the above?

I doubt that would work, you'd have to login with the character and just then it would merge all achievements/mounts/pets.

It did work a last year just after the account wide patch dropped. And I know they made some adjustments to how account to account transfer work, because people were trading characters as they still carried all the achievements/mounts/pets with them even after they first merge.

I have tried since then and only the character specific achievements will transfer after the first merge. Not even the rewards, i.e. pets and mounts will move even though you have the achievements.*

What I am not sure about is if they made a change that prevents the transfer of mounts/pets period, regardless of where or not the character has been logged since the account wide patch.

*I did have one strange incident where the character maintained a glory to the raider mount and associated achievements, that was gained through the merge, because I was riding the mount when I transferred. All the other mounts, even the ones that character had rightly earned were lost.

When we touch the teories, only a test could prove or regret that, indeed. Spend 20euro/$25 and test it, or simply try the empty paypal trick for the test, soon enough, the transfer will be turned back.

Maybe that way you could get interesting moments enough

Ok so a minor update. I did some more research and experiments it turns out that:

• All achievements earned by the character will transfer. However not all* the rewards will!
• Only 'character specific mounts' will transfer. This includes class mounts and gladiator mounts.

*So it turns out that the character that I transferred off the battle.net had earnt all the achievements for a Glory to the Raider meta in its own right. So contrary to my previous assumption I believe that an Achievement that grants a mount will still do after a transfer, as opposed to keeping a mount that grants an Achievement. (I lost the Amani War Bear, but kept the achievement). Just to throw a wrench into the mix I had also earned the Perky Pug prior to the transfer. But despite this being a reward from an Achievement it was not in my pet library after the transfer.

I haven't been able to try transferring a character that hasn't been logged since before Patch 5.0.4 (account-wide patch) to see if all the stuff still transfers as long as you don't log in first. (I did buy some SoR accounts but they all had crappy lvl 10's)
