Battle.net & Transfers Help

Hi everyone,

Been checking out all kinds of threads this morning, trying to figure out what to do.

One of my good friends moved months ago out of Country; since we started playing WoW together she decided to give me her account as she would no longer be playing anymore.

I have finally decided to start using the account but am worried about playing it much at this point; I had moved it to a battle.net account using all of her account details (excluding address, phone number, etc.).

What I would really like to do is to transfer it to a new account for myself so I can move it under my name. Now, I realize that in order to go from bnet to bnet accounts the last names would need to match. I don't like the idea of making a new account under the same name again as that would defeat the purpose.

Would doing this work?:

Somehow unmerge account from battle.net...
Create new battle.net account with my name and information with her account.
Make a new account and transfer characters from friend's to my new account.

I'm really out of ideas, and could use suggestions / advice. Since the account is already merged with battle.net it makes it more complicated. As I said I would really like to get the characters transferred under my name but it would seem the only way at this point is to unmerge it first. Unless I'm missing something. >.<

Im not completely sure but, i don't think you can unmerge a Battle.net account.

From what I've read you can, but it's difficult and depends on what rep you're getting. >.<

Okay well let me try this.

Has anyone here successfully created a battle.net account with a name that matches their own, merged their friend's or families account into it..

Created another new battle.net account with your name, merged a new account, full expansion setup...

Then transferring characters off the friend's account to your new battle.net account (or your main battle.net account), without any troubles?

If it's going to be a really big hassle I'm not going to bother. I would hate to see my best friend's account go to waste but I've never done anything like this before and do not want any trouble with Blizzard.
