question about merging accounts and achievements

If I buy an unmerged account and merge it with my main account, and the unmerged account gets banned later, would I still keep any achievements that the account had? And what about any mounts or pets that it had. Would I keep those too?

Just wanted to find out more about this before I start buying any unmerged accounts. Would only want to do it to get more achievements on my main account. And I keep reading that unmerged accounts seem to have a higher chance of being banned lately, so I doubt I could use the characters on them for any long period of time. I'm sure there are many people here that have already bought some accounts though, so any advice would be helpful.

No you wont get any of your mounts you have on one of those accounts on the other. You will have one "WoW1" which is "Account 1" and then you have the unmerged account which is like "Falkeid" aka "Account 2". And when you merge "Account 2" into the same email you have "Account 1" on you will have 2 different accounts on the same mail.

So basically its not the "accounts" you merge, you merge the unmerged account to your Email.

Is there any way of getting the achievements or the mounts and pets then? Thought many players were doing that. Not sure exactly how its supposed to happen though. Did they hotfix the possibility?

I bought two unmerged accounts about... 3-4 months ago. On separate B.net accounts.
My main account has killed Rivendare 107 times, and no mount has dropped.
My alt account has killed Rivendare 2 times, and the mount dropped.

So, I called into Blizzard Billing, provided the SQA for both accounts, and the guy unmerged the alt WoW account off the old b.net account and put it on my new one. The alt account has since ran out of gametime, however, my main still has the Deathcharger.

EDIT: As to the way players were doing it...
They would make a level 10 on their account, so that it would get all the mounts/titles/etc, and be able to xfer off, then somehow they would xfer it to the buyers account. This method has been hotfixed, but some people claim to have new methods.

Sorry if I seem confused. Just have never bought an unmerged account before. Want to be sure I do this right so I will get the achievements too. Or the pets at least. Maybe I have to merge the unmerged account to my main account which is a battle.net account. Then do a character transfer to get everything? Basically I'm buying an unmerged ce. Already have a deal setup for it. But its going to be expensive so I'm just trying to verify if I can still get the pets on my main account with it. And any other achievements it might have too.

If I can't however, then I'll know this isn't worth doing. Was also reading something about a hotfix regarding account merging and achievements recently. But I'm not sure if it was about two bnet accounts being merged or a different situation in which a character being transferred to one account and then transferred off an account didn't leave the achievements behind on the account later. I think it had to do with someone selling too many mounts and just passing them around. It might not apply to this situation or what I'm trying to do. But either way, I'll wait for more replies from some of you guys / girls before I proceed with making any decision. Still just confused overall and not sure what to do. Thanks for the input so far.
