Last name + email

Ive managed to gain access to a persons account through surfing his old email accounts. However, i dont know the email address that is linked to the wow account..

If i was to buy a new wow client, make it with his last name and xfer the character between it would i need to have access to his email in order to confirm it? Basically, what info do i need to transfer one character to another and what account access do i need
