OK, found this out while questing today. There's a quest called "Enduring the heat" where you are sent to a cave with runes which must be destroyed. While running around there a lot of mobs spawn on your way, so while standing on one of the runes they do nearly no damage (but die after a short time). It's easy to "collect" around 10-15 when you run around there, then simply destroy one of the runes and it will give you one trohpy for each mob you killed through this (but you actually didn't do any dmg to them). OK, there are other fast or maybe faster spots, but it's the fastet way if you do the quests there anyway.
