It was not the program that got you caught, it was your use of it.

Mr. Fishit does NOT get accounts banned(hundreds of people, if not thousands use it), people get banned because they run it for too long or in stupid places where people notice someone fishing without moving for hours at a time.

When enough people report you they look into it and see 16 hours of fishing without moving or ever taking a break, then you get banned.

If you are going to use a fish bot, use it well. Don't stay in the same area for long and if you have to, find a good hiding spot(clipped).
I always fished in obscure locations where I could not been seen, due to the fact I'm on a PVP server. Fore example, I would glitch through walls and was always out of sight and unable to be attacked, so the chances of people reporting me for cheating would be extremely unlikely. It was also my own guild with just that one botting character and a lvl1 banker/AH alt, so no guildies to report me. Yes I used it for long periods of time, but mostly while I was still in the room doing other things.

Anyway they have now changed the ban to a 72 hour suspension. I asked them for the reason I got ban, before I was going to make my appeal and they just unbanned me, just for asking the reasons and no appeal.
Plus for Blizz to ban you, they have to have concrete proof evidence before hand and I'm sure they don't consider standing still fishing for hours evidence.

I think what people need to remember is that a HUGE patch just happened, and with major patches blizz always implements some new detections to help find bots. Maybe you just got auto flagged and checked on by a GM for fishing 8+ hrs... you never really know.

That is why it is wisest to not bot right after a major patch hits. Give it a week or two for Bot manufacturers to find and see the new things or identify banning trends.

I'd like to chime in with a MrFishIt defence here..
I used to use it massively during cata and a bit during LK but I never botted for more than 3-4 hours on it...
I would like to think it have been unusually long botting duration thats got you there..

I didn't use it after the patch, only before.
