Making a new addon. Suggestions?

I'm making an Addon, and not sure what kind to make. What suggestions do you all have for one?

When I played WoW, I raided.. hardcore. God damn, there's a plethora of things you could do.. If I may make a suggestion, one thing I ALWAYS looked for as a raid leader in a top end guild, and even a raider in some guilds such as Vigil, Blood Legion, and Exodus. I always wanted an addon to help exponentially in the effort to run certain things, I.e., GDKP runs, Guild Bank auctions, and other 'transactiony' type things.

You see, being in a guild like Blood Legion, you deal with alot of things, for instance selling runs, and selling gear, mounts, etc. If you could make an addon to support all of this, people would donate in a heartbeat. There are some addons out there, none of which get the full gist of what we looked for. It's much harder than you think to do it by hand. However, thats only a suggestion, best of luck with whatever you decide to do

That's actually a really good idea. I think I'll start working on that. I'm not a Lua expert, but my brother lives with me and he's fluent in all the programming languages. He's made a couple addons that we just never published, but used. He told me to find some kind of idea, and he would kind of teach me a little bit, then assign me to do something. So, thanks for the idea.

Sorry for the late reply, as I've been away for the past week. However, I'd love to see what comes of this.. if you can release an add on like this I will personally see to it that there be proper advertising by big name guilds such as Blood Legion.

Nice and productive idea. I myself find controlling all the aspects of my character very hard to accomplish. Good luck and we expect some updates from you

I do recall someone saying that coding allowed you to make an in-game video player window, that would play the files that you had to manually put in the addon folder. In essence, you could have an in-game window with some videos playing, while you yourself are doing something else (i.e. wipe recovery, mining/herbing, rare hunting, etc).

Now i know that itself would be somewhat useless, seeing how if you play full-windowed you can just tell your windows media player to force overlay, however the idea itself answers why addons like peggle/bejeweled were so popular.

If you find some way for people to entertain themselves while they are doing boring things (it doesnt have to be a minigame, it just needs to be something that keeps them occupied), they would be very thankful.
